Janus hovered around the corner, listening to the conversation on the other side, plucking up his courage the best he could for what he was going to do. Something he should of done ages ago.

"I'll see you later then lo, I'll be fucking around in the imagination blowing shit up if you need me." Remus laughs in his usual mad way.

"And i'll be helping Virgil on shift today. Thomas has an audition so i assume Roman will  be joining us as well."

"I could totally do a better job in auditions then Mr. vanilla" Remus huffs.

"I'm sure it would be an audition no one would soon forget" Logan kisses Remus's cheek, "I'll let you know when we're done if you're not still  busy"

They part ways, Remus heading towards the corridor Janus was in. He takes a few steps back and then walks forward, as if he was just coming up.

"Oh, hey Remus" he says as he turns the corner.

Remus looks startled slightly, "Hi..." he tries to walk past but Janus moves in the way.

"Could we talk?"

"hmm, let me think... No."

"Come on Re"

Remus glares at him, crossing his arms and making Janus notice how much bigger Remus was then him.

"Look, I miss my best friend. I miss you. What I did was shitty, there is no excuse. I will try my best to make it up to you anyway I can."

"Bet." An awful grin came over Remus's face and Janus couldn't be happier.

Pans and bowls were scattered haphazardly around the kitchen, the smell of baked goods filled the surroundings. The entire room seemingly transformed into a  bakery. Soft humming filled the air, mixing with the smells of cooking to create an intoxicating sense of joy.

"What's the occasion?" Roman had entered, too nervous to sit waiting with the others while Thomas was waiting to be called, and found himself pulled in by the sweet aroma.

"Just a treat for all you guys"

Roman looks at him suspiciously, "The last time you did all this, you wanted us out f your hair for a while..."
"If you don't want it, you don't have tk have any" Patton smiled.
"Nope, your baking is the best, I wouldn't miss it for the world"
Patton laughs and continues to bake, occasionally swatting Roman's hand away from the already done goods.

The audition went well, all were optimistic that Thomas had secured the part he desired.
Patton put a message in the group chat that everything was ready and all the sides joined him in the kitchen.
"Have as much as you like, first come first serve."
As the others get stuck in, Patton edges off, leaving unnoticed. Almost, unnoticed.
It was Patton's habit to distract the other's with his baking skills when he wanted alone time. To him, it ment he was still helping them and doing something for them while getting some time to himself. No one really noticed, except Logan, who'd often come and check on him half-hourly. But this time, Logan pulled Janus aside.
"Logan, I- hi"
"Go check on Patton, discretly. Don't make too much of a big fuss, he doesn't like that, but go every now and again. Patton needs his alone time, but he can also fall into his thoughts easily." Logan then walked away, leaving Janus slightly confused as to why Logan would choose him to support Patton, but glad.

Roughly twenty minutes after Patton had first left, Janus knocked on the door, entering when called.
"Hey Lo- Janus?" Patton was sat in his bed, wrapped in his blankets like a cacoon.
"Hey, just checking up on you" Janus offers him a gentle smile, sitting on the edge of the bed to give Patton his space.
"Did Logan tell you to?"
"He may of suggested it, but, I also want to"
Patton returns Janus's smile, "Well thank you. I'm okay, just taking some time"
Janus nods, getting back up again, "Let me know if you need anything. I'll be back later"

For the rest of the day Janus periodically checked in on Patton, bringing him snacks and drinks.

Late in the evening, nearing on night, Janus visited again.
"Hey, me again" but when he looked inside, he found Patton almost asleep. "Oh, sorry. I'll go" he whispers.
Patton reaches out, "Janus, could you lay with me for a little, I'm cold"
Janus nods, carefully joining Patton in the bed, wrapping his arms around the side.
"It's weird." Patton says, eyes still closed and sleep heavy in his voice.
"What is?"
"When I loved Logan, I wanted to do anything for his attention. I don't even know if it was love or loneliness."
"It happens. You were alone for an entire year and you guys used to be so close."
"Now I love you, I understand what I want in life"
Janus's heart stopped and his eyes widened, "w-what?" he asked, wondering if his ears were playing some cruel deception.
Janus looks down and Patton was asleep, pressed close to his chest and holding him there. Why would Patton do that? Confess with no explanation.
Janus lay there, replaying the words over and over. "now I love you."
