Janus took a deep breath, "Remus..."
Remus stopped, he sighs and turns around. "Yes?"
There was an edge to his voice that hit Janus hard.
"Remus, I need to apologise-"
"Yes you do. Because, not only did you use me, you hurt Logan. Now, you can do anything you want to me, because I honestly don't care anymore, but Logan never did anything to you, only be so much better then you."
"... Remus... I am sorry. I am really sorry." He takes off his right glove, just like when he was honest about his name, "I am so sorry..."
Remus laughs, a cold maniacal laugh. "Stop the theatrics Janus. That's my job. I'll accept your apology when you apologise to Logan." with that Remus walked away and Janus knew better then to follow him.
Apologise to Logan and this'll all be over...
Janus headed to the control room, Logan should be on shift.
He kocks, hearing someone call to enter.
The control room was dark, as always. Lights of screens and green and red lights.
Virgil was at him desk, scribbling away at a book, without looking up he says, "did you bring coffee?"
"um, no?"
Both Virgil and Logan turn to look at the door, not expecting to hear Janus's voice.
"Then leave" Virgil shrugs, going back to his work. Logan turns away too, flipping switches on the main pannel.
"Logan, can I talk to you? Alone?"
"no"
Janus lookedat Virgil who had stopped writing and was listen, "Please."
"Plee all you wish, Janus. I'm simply too busy."
"Logan, I really need to talk to you."
Logan signs, turning to Janus beckoning him over. "do you know what these do?" Logan asks, pointing at switch that flipped down as he spoke, Logan instantly flipping it back on.
"no..? I don't understand how-"
"This is Thomas's breathing. Usually it stays on automatically, but Virgil just had a big fright and now I have to keep Thomas breathing manually. So, is whatever that was so important?"
Janus shakes his head, "No, it can wait..."
"Right, if that is all please get out."
Janus leaves. Now what?
Remus won't forgive him until he apologises to Logan, and Logan is too busy to listen. He could aways lie, that was his job...
But no. Lying got him into this mess, it wasn't going to get him out.
Sometime later, Logan had sorted the breathing, as usual. It wasn't too big of a concern. Just like asthma.
When Janus went back to find Patton, he had all ready preoccupied himself with fussing over Virgil so Janus thought it best to leave them undisturbed.
At some point, Roman had swapped with Logan for his shift so Janus set his sights on apologising to Logic once again. Although, it wasn't going to be an easy feat, he could sense that.
Logan's door was closed as always, but the light was shining from underneath.
Janus kocks.
"enter at your own risk!" Remus's voice calls out.
Of course they were together...
Janus opens the door, revealing himself.
Logan and Remus were sat on the bed, Logan's half done up tie around Remus's neck and a look of frustration that only could mean he was trying teach creativity how to tie it properly.
Both of their faces turned cold at the sight of Janus.
"Logan, I want to apologise, for what I said to you." Janus starts, "I was jealous and hurt, it's not an excuse, but those things aren't true. I was used by emotions and I promise I'd never intend to hurt you if I was in my right mind."
Logan just nods, looking to Remus.
"And Remus-"
"Save it Janus. Apology accepted, you can go now" Remus says, cutting him off.
Janus hesitates, but Logan nods solemnly, telling him it was for the best.Janus returns to his own room. He lays on his bed and just thinks about everything.
Patton was too busy for him.
Remus still hated him, he could tell.
He was alone once more.
Or not...
A gentle knock sounded at his door. Confused, he sat up, the door opening and there, stood in the light of the hallway was Patton.
"Janus..? It's so dark in here, are you okay?" Patton entered, shutting the door behind him and blindly wandering in the dark towards Janus.
Janus reached out, taking Patton hand and pulling him to sit on the bed. "Give it a second, your eyes will adjust" he says, and Patton nods.
Janus could see as bright as day, but after fifteen minutes Patton could only really see outlines of everything, only just being able to see Janus's face.
"I guess I'm just not used to the dark" he laughs slightly, more out of nervoususness then anything else.
"I can turn a light on for you if you like," Janus reaches out to the lamp by his bedside, but a hand catches his.
"No, that's okay. It's sort of nice. Relaxing." He says, laying down and smiling.
Janus nods, still holding Patton's hand, not knowing if he should let go or keep holding on.
This was quickly answered when Patton locked his fingers in between Janus's, who lay next to him in response.
" You know, me and Logan would never of worked out anyway. This is definitely for the best" Patton says, without a hint of sadness.
"So, you're over him?"
"I'm not sure, hopefully. It's better that way."
"Yeah, you're right"
There's a moment of quiet, then Patton moves closer, resting his head on Janus's chest and holding him. "Thank you, Janus. For everything..."
"Anytime Patt, you know I'm here for you"
Patton nods, closing his eyes and just enjoying being held, ignoring the growing feeling of guilt in his chest.
