A/N
I wanted to write another chapter last week but I got super busy with assignments and stuff. this is a  (super)short chapter just to help push the plot and what not

"So pretty boy, what are you gonna do?" The shaggy brunette confronted Maven once they had stepped foot into the kitchen. Perching himself on top of his own counter, his eyes watched Maven. Hazy, but you could tell he was analyzing the blue eyed boy's every move.

It felt like ages before Thomas spoke again. He scoffed "Don't tell me you're actually thinking about telling her Mavey." The silence was deafening. "Maven."

He couldn't bear to look at Thomas, suddenly taking interest on the ground before him. Hands tucked away in his pockets. Why wouldn't he think of it? He could ruin his brother and the information was right in his hand, just tell mother Cal's been sneaking out, cheating even. His brother and his father would finally have to step down. To finally be in the spotlight, of some silly company he really didn't care about.

"Maven Calore." he mentally shuddered from his birth name falling from Thomas's lips, of all people. "You don't even give two shits about the company like that. Why would you ruin them?" At this point Thomas could be having a conversation with himself. The other boy stayed oddly silent.

"I don't know."

"What the fuck do you mean you don't know?"

"I'm saying, this could hurt Mare, so why not cut it off from the roots." Maven said, regaining his composure. "If I tell Mother she could cut off ties with the Samos family and-"

"Do you hear yourself right now?" Thomas shakes his head "You sound insane. Since when did you truly care about the company?"

Since always.

"I don't. I'm looking out for Mare." He is a surprisingly good liar, because even he believes it's just for Mare for a second.

"And if your plan fails Maven? You know your robot of a mom doesn't even like me. What if she plans to marry you off instead?" The frustration in Thomas's voice is rising, Maven feels uncomfortable.

"She loves me, she wouldn't do that." this time he lies not only to Thomas, but to himself.

"You know what she also loves? Power. Money. Recognition." The youngest Calore already knew that, well frustrated by it too.

Thomas now towers over Maven by a couple of inches. "I have a feeling she wouldn't hesitate to sell you off in a millisecond Maven." He practically hissed at him and walked by, leaving Maven to his own thoughts.

On one note, if this information gets spread it could finally be the fall of the dreaded company. The company that stops the entire Calore household from acting like a true family. Maybe Father and Mother will finally sit together during dinners. Even Cal and Maven going around together without having to sneak out or wear disguises.

Maybe he will keep the information to himself. Watch how things play out for once. See who gets hurt and how without revealing a word, though he'd rather be in the game instead of watching.

He throws a glance to the living room noticing his boyfriend's movement and attitude being uplifted. Maybe it was real maybe it wasn't. Maven cannot tell the difference.
