Watching these people is equal parts terrifying, fascinating and entertaining, but Ande seems horrified, and that bothers me. I go to look beside me, and Ande isn't there anymore. I search the room to try and find her and call her name. Damn. I can't find her. Double Damn. Where would she have disappeared to? It seems like forever until I can actually move my feet though, and it isn't until the Elders come back from looking for a new clearing for training that this even happens.

The door to the cabin opens, and I'm greeted by three blank faces.

Miriam frowns and steps forward. "Bloody hell! What's going on in here?" she shouts.

Everyone is looking around confused, and we are temporarily unable to answer her question.

EJ runs his hands through his hair. "Ok Ande, what is going on here? You and Dominic are the only ones still moving when we walked in."

"I don't know." Ande mumbles, a tear running down her face.

"You don't know?" He continues, so I speak up to save her some stress.

"Hunter, here, was running his mouth, again! This time about Tally, her headaches and her special treatment," stopping to look pointedly at Hunter, "He wouldn't shut up and apparently, Tally heard him and came storming down the stairs. After a few words, Hunter is screaming in pain. Tanner got concerned and tried to stop her and somehow she went flying across the room. Mick became upset, and Tanner started coming off the ground. Carleigh got upset and somehow brought Tanner back to the ground, and I lost sight of Ande until you guys walked in."

Some sort of recognition comes over Estel's face before she closes her eyes, and I immediately start feeling myself calm down from what had just happened. After everyone settles, EJ yanks Hunter up and pulls him into a side room. The only thing that can be heard is a whole lot of yelling. EJ storms out of the room and helps Tally up the stairs—to get treatment I assume, with Mick and Miriam following him. He comes back to check on the rest of us, then asks us to sit in the living room and wait. EJ and Estel leave to go chat in another room.

Jonah turns to me and whispers, "Aren't you glad now we aren't Protectors?"

Wanting to agree, I just smile at him, but I'm still concerned for all of the people in the cabin. What the hell just happened? What the hell is going to happen next?

EJ returns and instructs us to return to our rooms, and a meeting will be held after breakfast to explain what happened.

I walk over to the corner Ande is still huddled in.

"Here." I extend my hand. "Let me help you to your room."

We make it upstairs and through her bedroom door.

She collapses onto her bed and hides her face. "What's ... What's ... What's wrong with me?"

I take a seat next to her. "Nothing is wrong with you. You were in that room. All of the Protectors started using some sort of abilities down there. If there's something wrong with you, then there's something wrong with over half the people in this cabin, one being an Elder. Didn't you feel that shift in energy? That happened after Estel closed her eyes. I can't read lips, but it did look like she was saying something."

She's shaking as she curls into my side. I spend the rest of the night trying to comfort her and get her mind off of this evening.

She dozes off, and I lay us both down so she can rest. Not knowing what to do, I lay there and hold her all night.

The next morning after breakfast we're all asked to gather in the living room for a meeting. Four very serious looking Elders greet us when we come into the room.
