Working at Anteiku

In the morning I start working at Anteiku and of course Kaneki's teaching me everything. Right now I'm wiping down a table but Kaneki's about to show me how to make the best coffee ever. "Hey [Name] the manager wants to talk you." Nishiki tells me. "Okay." I walk in the staff only door, today been slow no alot of people have came in. I walk in the conference room and the manager sits in the room. "Hello sir. You wanted to speak with me?" I sit down. "Yes, I wanted to ask you how your first day is going?"

"It's great, I love it so far." I smile. "Good and also I have something for you." "Hmm?" He hands me a wrapped package. "What this?" I barely open it and smell flesh and I close it. "Kaneki told me you were having a hard time eating flesh and asked for advice." The manager said with his head down. I sigh, "It's true. I just don't know what to think of it yet."

"Eat it." He says. "What?" "Eat it." He repeats his words. "Sir I c-can't do that." I shake my head. "I don't even like eating in front of my own boyfriend." Tears swell in my eyes, I look up at him. "I can't." I shake my head more. "[Name] just breathe." I take in deep breaths. "Now, let me see." I hand him the flesh.

He opens it and I sniff the air. I can smell a lot better than I could before. "You can smell it, right?" "Yes sir." "Good." I'm confused. He takes a piece of it and waves it around. "Did Kaneki tell you what happens when you don't eat?" "No sir." I try to not drool and try to focus.

"Well if you don't eat you can go crazy and devour anyone just as long as it's human flesh... So eat." He holds out the piece of meat. "What does this have to do with Kaneki?" He sighs. "Kaneki once did this and ended up biting the shit out of a dove." "A dove?" I tilt my head like a confused dog. "The doves are the people that hunt down ghouls and kill them. Then use the weapons the ghouls once possessed." I take the flesh. "I see." I bite the flesh chew then shallow. "Good." He smiles.

He wraps the meat back up and hands to me. "Put it in the staff fridge and take it home." "Yes sir, thank you." I walk in the staff room and write me name on the package and put it in the freezer. "[Name], [Name]?" Someone calls for me. I walk out the room and look around and see Kaneki.

"There you are." Kaneki walks up to me. "I thought you want me to show you how to make coffee." "I do, sorry I was talking to the manager." "Oh." He puts down his head. I put my hands on his face making him look at me. "Hey, thank you for worrying about me." I hug him. "I love you." I whisper in his ear then kiss him.

"Aww." I look in the hallway and everyone stares looking at us. I blush and scratch my eye under my eyepatch. "Come let's get back to work." I say to everyone and we all scatter in different rooms. I have a feeling I'm not going to get used to this.

Time skip

After Kaneki shows me how to make the coffee, I start to hang out with Hinami. She loves to read and that's how she learns more things. "Big sister, what is a poinsettia?" "A large showy scarlet bracts surrounding the small yellow flowers." I explain to her and writes it in the notebook.

When someone opens the door but I don't look. 'It's probably just Touka checking up on Hinami.' The person comes in my eye view, it's someone I don't know and I know everyone that works here and or is aloud behind the staff only door. "You can't be back here." I stand up and Hinami looks at the man. "Hinami get back." Hinami gets up and goes in the corner of the room.

I back up from the man and he just stands there. "I need you to leave." I say to the man with a mask on. A huge black tail comes out of his back. "Uh? You're a ghoul." I say sarcastically. 'I can't do anything. They can't know I'm one eyed.' I think. "Shit!" I look at Hinami and the window behind her.

"Hinami come here." I run to her. I grab Hinami and smash through the window with my back, but the man's tail grabs Hinami. "Hinami!" I yell as the man wraps her in his arms and runs. "Help! Big sister!" I hear Hinami scream but can't see her anymore. I get up staggering, trying to heal from smashing the window.

I run the way the man went and try to find him but no sign of them their gone. I smell the air, "Now I have your scent." I look around looking for everyone else. I push open the staff only doir walking into what looks like a war just happened. "Oh my god." I hold my mouth. Touka has a table through her stomach, Nishiki is covered in blood and Kaneki...

"Kaneki!" I cry. Kaneki has a hole in his chest. I run to him, I take off my shirt and put pressure on his wound. I pull the table out Touka stomach, and wake up Nishiki, everyone else is just knocked out. I don't see the manager but he could have left an hour ago.

"Nishiki! Wake the hell up I need help!" I smack him and he pop awake and takes a huge deep breath in and starts to panting. "[Name]?" "What happened?! Actually tell me later just help me!" Nishiki starts to blush. "What?" Then I realize I toke off my shirt to help Kaneki. "Stop it just help me!" "Oh yeah." He jumps up.

"I need towels. A lot of towels." I go to Kaneki putting pressure on his wound. Nishiki runs and get a towels. "Kaneki? Please wake up. Kaneki?" I rub his face. Nishiki comes back with towels. "I pulled the table out of Touka's stomach, I need you to put pressure on her stomach!"

"There was a table in her!" "Yes, my god! Just help her!" He goes to Touka and puts the towels on her stomach. He pushes on towel and Touka breathes in sharply. I lay on Kaneki chest not caring if I get blood on me. "Kaneki? Come on. I need your help."
