Part 13

POV FINN

'Mom?' I yell threw the house but it stays quiet. 'Nick?' I continue but again nobody awnsers. The lights are out and the heater is not on either. I grab my phone and text nick. He says that he is back at college dorms and that mom and dad wanted to do groceseries. I turn on the lights and open the frigde. It's all ready 6.30 so time for food. There is a pizza in the freezer. I putt it in the oven for 10 minutes and get a plate. After dinner I play some guitar and check my phone many times, to see if Millie maybe send me something. I think i might have really pissed her off, with well you know. I do really like Millie but the entire dating thing just isn't for me I guess. Tomorrow ZOOM starts, what will be a weird experiance. I set my alarm, because i know myself i don't want to forget to do it. I start the tv in my room and my phone makes a sound. Millie? Nope Amber. 

A: Hey!
F: hi. 
A: How is it going?
F: Fine, You?
A: Yeah good too.

After texting with Amber for about an hour she has to go. She is not that bad as that i thought. She is kind. She asked me about my hobbies and things like that. My parents came home a while ago, all ready fighting of course. Who is surpirised? I'm clad that Nick is at college by the way. If dad goed crazy again at least Nick wont be a target. 'Nick have you eaten dinner yet?' Mom yells and i hear my dad mumble something. 'So i am supossed to let him starve?' Mom yells back. 'I all ready ate.' I yell before dad can say anything. 'What did you eat?' Mom asks and i sigh. 'The pizza in the freezer.' I yell and i hear footsteps running up the stairs. 'That was mine!' Dad runs in my room. 'I'm sorry i didn't know!' I mumble.

'You are such a piece of shit!' Dad yells and his hand hits my cheek. I fall off my stool hit the floor. 'Are you calling me a piece of shit?' I yell back and I stand up fast, ignoring the black spots i see. 'What did you say?' His head turns so red i think it will explode. 'Nothing!' I yell back. 'You need to learn disapline and how you shut your mouth!' My dad yells and he hits me in my stomach. I fall on top of the chair, getting the back against my ribs. I cry out in pain and fall on the floor once again. Damn that hurts. So much. 'You better watch out! there wont be a next time!' Dad yells and i stay on the floor. Even breathing hurts like hell.  'Finn?' The door opens and mom apears. 'Just go.' I mumble softly and i can see the tears on my moms face. 'Please?' I say now a bit louder and she walks out of the room. I pull myself on my bed and hope that the pain will go. I can't believe i just got beat up because of a damn pizza. 'Shit.' I mumble under my breath and try standing up. I fall back on my bed the second i stand. I try again and walk to the bathroom slowly. With one arm i'm holding my ribs and with the other one i am leaning against the cold wall. I open the small cabinet in the bathroom and pull out the box with painkillers. I take two and then slowly walk back to my room. I crall underneath the covers and try to fall asleep.

'Finn honey wake up.' My mom her voice wakes me up 10 minutes before my alarm would. 'Hey.' I mumble and close my eyes again. The pain in my cest and ribs only got worse. How in the hell did i fall asleep? 'How are your ribs?' My mom asks and sits down at the courner of my bed. 'Painfull.' I mumble and try to get myself up. After some struggles i sit up straight. 'Show me.' She demand and i know she wont leave untill i will. I lift my sweater a little, which reveals my purple, almost black ribs. 'We are going to the doctor.' Mom says after a while and i open my mouth to protest. 'It hurts right? Yeah so the doctor will give you more painkillers, better ones, come on.' Mom says before i can even get a word in. 'What about ZOOM?' I ask and mom shurgs. 'I will email the teacher.' mom mumbles before helping me up. We walk outside and she drives off to the small doctorsoffice not very far away. 'Finn Wolfhard? I called.' Mom tells the women behind the desk. 'Take a seat right there, Doctor Elmond will be right here.' She smiles and we walk to the waitingroom. We stay quiet for a while, clearly not knowing what to say to each other. 'Finn?' An middle aged man with opens the door. 'I can not shake your hand because of the covid 19 but I'm doctor Elmond.' He smile kind and we follow him to his office. We sit down in the chairs and he types on his computer. 'So Finn, What happend?' He ask and i think for a second. I am not ratting my dad out. 'I fell on my chair and the back hit my ribs.' I finally dicide. After telling him what hurts and in what way he gives us a note. 'One of the ribs might be broken, so i am sending you to the hospital for a scan. They will give you painkillers too.' He says after more typing on the laptop. 'Thank you.' Me and mom both say before walking out of the doctors office, on our way to the hospital.

POV MILLIE

Finn isn't in ZOOM. Everybody is there acept for him. I texted him asking if he was okay but he didn't awnser. At 3 i finished all my classes. I close the laptop and walk down stairs. Mom is still working and since i am not allowed to go anywhere i am so bored. I make some more coffee and read for a while. My phone blieps and i open it. 

F: Yeah i had to go to the doctor. 
M: Are you okay?
F: Yeah it was just a checkup. 

Checkups don't take all day, but he clearly doesn't want to say more. I scroll threw instagram and see that Sadie posted a picture with her brother. They really look alike. I like it and a few seconds later i have and DM from Sadie. 

S: Hey whatsupp?
M: Yeah not much, how bout you?
S: Yeah great. 
M: is that sarcams dripping off?
S: definitely. 
M: why?
S: Spending 24 hours a day with my family. 
M: That is great
S: It sure is. 
S: Can you call for a while?
M: yeah sure. 

'Hey whatsupp!?' Sadie asks when i awnser the phone. 'You asked me that all ready.' I chuckle and so does Sadie. 'I am so bored.' Sadie continues and i hear someone swear in the background. 'Mitchell get out!' Sadie yells and a door closes. 'Sorry my idot brother ripped my shirt.' Sadie mumbles and i laugh. We talk for about an hour, talking about everything. Sadie is really a nice girl. I eat some dinner, since mom isn't home yet. I made a salad and drank something before taking a shower. I am bored all ready. I open my phone after the shower and see that Finn sended me a message. 'Can i come over?' He just typed that. 10 minutes ago. I type back sure and bite my nail. Why would he want to come over. About 10 minutes later the bell rings what is odd since it's a 20 minute bike ride. 'Hey.' I smile when i open the door. Finns eyes are red, like he cried. Did he cry? 'Are you okay?' I ask with a frown. Finn doesn't say anything but does wrap his arms around me. He pulls me in a hug and hides his face in my hair. 'Finn?' I try to pull back a little to watch his face but Finn doesn't let go. We stand there for a while, not saying anything just hugging. 'Whats wrong?' I ask when we finally let go. 'Nothing.' He fakes a smile and the dimple apears in his cheek again. I raise my eyebrows but Finn dogdes my eyes. I know that i can't fource his to talk to me, so i just have to play it nice. 'Fine, come on.' I drag Finn upstairs and we sit down at the bed. We continue the show we watched yesterday and don't talk.

POV FINN 

I know that i have to tell her something, but i just couldn't come up with another lie. I lied to the doctors, others who asked me why i wasn't in ZOOM, amber and Nick. I just couldn't lie to Millie. So i just said nothing. I'm very clad that she doesn't push that much either. I try to sleep, but i keep turning. The pills the doctors gave me for my bruised ribs, not broken, work for like 5 hours but then stop and the pain returns. Millie next to me turns too and i can feel her staring at me. 'Finn?' She asks and i look at her. 'What happend?' Millie her eyes don't leave mine. 'I fell.' I push myself to say and Millie frowns again. I want to make her smile not frown. 'Is that why you cried?' She continues to ask and i fake a smile again. 'I didn't cry.' I lie again. 'Lies.' She points at my cheek. The dimple Millie keeps talking about. 'Where did you fall?' She asks. 'Home.' I mumble and i can see the confusing look on Millie her face even though i have my eyes closed. 'I fell on my chair and i bruised my ribs, that was why i wasn't in ZOOM.' I make a summary more for me then for Millie so i can remember all the lies i told people. 'You bruised you ribs?' She asks and i nod. 'And those pills stop working after a while.' I mumble and turn again to make it more comfertable. 'Finn?' She asks again after a while and i hum. 'I don't believe you just fell.' She mumbles and i turn my head fastly. 'What? Why?' It was a good lie, i mean, not even that much of a lie. I did fall. 'I don't know. It seems like your lying to me.' She mumbles sad and i want to just yell what happend. just scream it but i don't. I stay quiet and Millie sighs. 'Goodnight.' I mumble after a while. 'Goodnight.' Millie mumbles and i feel her head lay against my arm.
