His Throne

13 - Fear from the Past

This place is so cozy that I wish I could stay here. Gary took out some leftovers from the fridge and set them on the table for all of us.

"Who's hungry?" He smiled with excitement.

Some of the leftovers are tubes of food. Everyone grabbed their dishes and I took a California sushi tube. This is just normal for us as we eat. Gary turns the television on and surfs it to channel, Local 58. I know that channel before. It has my favorite show in it. Cadavre starts playing and everyone is still eating.

Gary talks to both Tha and Hicpa. "So, how are your owners doing?"

"They are doing okay." Hicpa answered.

"Alexa was feeling scared." Tha added, "She was, in fact, attacked by the extraterrestrials outside."

Gary nodded and then he crouched down next to me. "So you were attacked by the extraterrestrials, were you?"

I nodded. "I was. It happened when I was helping Jennifer and then it happened the second time when we were finding the rover. I don't even know what or who they are, what do they want or why they are here. I just could stand being out there."

"Well, don't worry about it." Gary patted my shoulder, "You're gonna be fine. As long as you're safe, we always have to protect you."

He knows all that because the androids had told him about what happened. It just makes me feel like I am lost in the void of fear and confusion. He did try to help me. He walks away and continues to finish his meal. I felt silent for a moment. I look outside through the window and watched the satellite dishes rotate and the vehicles dash by. I think it's just that we are in a world of monsters. A different place. An extraterrestrial planet.

I stare down back at the sushi tube in my hand. I see something. It just crawls out of the tube. More of them fly it of the thing I'm holding. They're like insects. The whole cabin fades away and I'm sitting on a rock on the Moon.

"It's happening again."

I'm hallucinating again. The Moon seems empty out there and there are no buildings anywhere. A lunar module comes down slowly and lands onto the ground. Who could it be? I watch as two astronauts exit the module and then placed an American flag on the soil. The astronaut next to the flag saluted. This must be Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and this was Apollo 11. They placed the devices onto the ground and then went back into the Module Eagle. It then takes off leaving the device behind.

What came out of the hiding spot are the creatures. The look similar just like the one that caught me in the cave. The spaceships came to the Moon and they look like giant pliers. The creatures grabbed their tools while their vehicles exit the spaceships. They begin to build something surrounding the Apollo mission's devices while the others are carving the Moon's surface.

I saw something flying by. It looks like a giant skeletal bee with the arms of a mantis and the legs of a cricket with two toes on each foot. The aliens saw the thing and they captured it with a beam. They then drag it down and buried it inside the Moon just as the machines and the tower were complete. I didn't get to see it's face because it's head was behind it's massive wings. The machines open up like a flower and the beam from each of them shoots out. I got terrified as the humanoids walk closer to me. They are surrounding me. One of them reached it's hand towards me as my brain went up into complete panic mode.

I felt another hand touch my shoulder and shake me as I heard a voice.

"Alexa? Hey, Alexa! Are you okay?"

I gasped and backed away and I see Martin. He seems worried. I look around and found that I'm in Gary's cabin. I felt even more traumatized, scared and paranoid than ever before. I shook my head.

"No. No. I don't know. I keep seeing things."

"Why? What happened?" he asked.

"I saw the Lunar Module Eagle with Neil Armstrong. The creatures went next. And, they built some sort of machine while constructing a... Tower?"

I paused for a minute and looked at James and the other four on his phone.

"Look at this. Doesn't this look strange?" he wondered.

I took a closer look and I can see that they're watching the news. The news seems to say that the astronauts have discovered mysterious buildings... on the Moon? But, where? I don't have any ideas about where the building is and how to get there. I vision I had seemed to show me the history and how this happened. I could barely see what the point is but the understanding still doesn't fit in. I lie down and lean my head against the wall and sighed. I tried thinking of what those creatures are and why they are here but I couldn't think of what their names are.

"Alexa. What tower are you talking about?" Martin wondered.

I remember the tower that I saw in the video and onboard the space station Columbia 9. It looks more like a really tall castle. I don't know. They could be living in there. I answered the question.

"The one on the Moon."

"No way. You saw a tower on the Moon?" Taichi gasped.

This just got too real for me. They heard exactly what I said; a tower on the Moon. Did they have the same experience like I did?

"We should get some sleep. I'm very tired." Jennifer yawned.

"Alright. Let's go to sleep. Goodnight, everyone." James sighed.

We all say goodnight to each other and Gary gave us some blankets and pillows as the two androids turn off themselves. I snuggled up under the blanket as they fall asleep.
