His Throne

15 - Feeling This Moment

I open my eyes and sat up on the seat to see Gary smiling at me.

"Good morning, Alexa, my friend.  So, did you have a good sleep?"

I looked outside and then back at him.  "Yeah.  Yes, I did.  Thanks."

"I'm glad to hear that." he laughed, "I've heard that you were a survivor of these creatures that we don't know."

"How did you know that?" I asked.

"James and the androids did." Gary added, "They showed me a video of of someone or something that didn't look like a human.  I don't know what that thing is either."

I finally knew what those extraterrestrial life-forms are and what are doing all this time.  The gang are also awake.  They are looking me like they know that there is something about me.

"Mrs. Cooper is your mother?" Martin gasped.

"Yes.  She was." I sadly nodded, "She was a former astronaut who used to work at NASA when she was two years younger than me.  She knew about the creatures that are on the Moon."

"Does she?" Martin understands as he remembers his own moment, "When I was a little kid, I was going out at night with my old friend.  I was looking up at the night sky when I suddenly felt injured from the inside.  I was then quickly rushed to a hospital and was healed.  What I didn't know was that the Moon is too dangerous for me to look at it with a naked eye.  That's why I warned you not to look at the center part of the bright side of the Moon."

Taichi goes next.  "I was working at the space station Columbia 9 with James when we were repairing the solar panels.  He didn't have his goggles on so he got affected and I rushed him to the hospital section of the space station.  He was lucky that he survived.  What I saw was a tall building with a triangle next to it.  The lights are there too and they surround the tower."

"Yeah." Jennifer realized, "The ones just like in the video, Skywatching."

I can feel it.  We all really do have the same experience.  The lights and the tower both do have something to do with the humanoids.  They must be doing something to the people on Earth.

"Is there something that we can do to get to the tower?"

Taichi thinks of something, and then he reveals it.  "Wait.  I think I got it."

"What is it?" Jennifer asked.

Taichi continued.  "I remember seeing something when we were at the crater before we left."

"What did you see?" I questioned.

"I don't know, but they do look like tracks." Taichi added.

"Really?" Martin gasped.

"Yeah." Taichi nodded with excitement, "Like some sort of a motorcycle.  So, if we find this trail, then maybe it will lead us somewhere."

None of us had seen the wheel track before but I'm starting to feel excited and nervous both at the same time.  I couldn't remember where the crater is but I had to ask Tha.  I turn to her.

"Tha?  Do you remember where the creature was?  The one in the cave?"

Tha made beeping and buzzing noises and stopped.  "The crater is fifty miles southwest."

"Okay." James agreed, " Guys.  Let's go to the rover and find the crater."  He turns back to Tha.  "How did you know where it is?"

"I have a Global Positioning System in me." Tha answered, "I detected the location where the unknown being was because it had a tracking device."

I whispered out my words.  "So that's she knew where they were."

"Come on, guys.  Let's roll." Jennifer called and the group left except me.  I just sat there still in fear and paranoia.  I am not too sure if I can go to this place.  James and Martin came back into the cabin and saw me.  I turned my head up to them and they can see the anxious look on my face.

"What's wrong?  Aren't you gonna come?" Martin wondered.

"I'm...  I'm not sure if I can go there." I uttered, "What if there's creatures inside?"

James looks at Martin and then turns back to me.  "Then we have to sneak past them so that we don't get caught."

I nodded with agreement.  I stood up from the bench and waved goodbye to Gary as we left the cabin.  We walked through the hallway to the factory section of the building and found the rover.  It's a good thing that it's still here.  We jump in it and James starts the engine.

"Wait!  We need helmets." Taichi reminded.  He hopped off and we waited for him to come back.  I sighed as Tha turns her head towards me.  She is concerned that I'm too nervous to go there.  I looked at her and smiled.

"You're a really good protector to us, you know.  I mean, things you do that are always good make me feel safe."

"I appreciate that, Alexa." Tha agreed, "Your mother had created me just for you and your friends to make sure that you are safe."

I nodded.  I don't what is taking him so long but he did find the helmets.  We saw him running back with the helmets for us and some tools and gadgets.  Some of the gadgets are weapons.

"Alright.  Here they are." he said as he puts the tools and gadgets into the trunk.

"Hold on." James halted, "Where did you get these from?"

"My workspace." Taichi smiled.

We put on our helmets and we rode out of the Moonbase.  We drive around the spaceport and then stopped the vehicle.

"Okay.  Which direction?" James asked.

"Southwest." Hicpa answered.

"Right."

We ride away from the Moonbase Olympus and off into the distance.  Tha and Hicpa both really knew where the cave's entrance is and remembered exactly.  My mother did too and so, maybe this is why she left the USB stick out there for us.
