Epilogue

The sun rises and shines through my window as I wake up.  The camera is right above my head and it backs away from me as I sit up.

"Good morning, Alexa.  Today is Saturday, May 16, 2054."

"Good morning, Tha." I yawned.

It is morning and not a single death has been spotted since last night.  It is known that people all over the world had stopped wearing goggles every night now that it's over.

"I have cooked you breakfast." Tha reminded.

"Alright.  Thanks."

We walked downstairs and into the kitchen where the sandwich is already made.  The sandwich that Tha made has a tomato slice, egg and pork belly.

I took the sandwich and then sat down at the table.  It tastes so good.  I thought about one thing in my mind.  It just stays here ever since.

Tha can see the expression on my face while I'm eating.  "Are you thinking of something?"

I shook my head.  "Sorry.  It's just that..."  I paused for a second as an image of James appeared in my thoughts.  "I miss James so much.  He was a good friend."

Tha understands about what I said; the moment that the humanoids had killed him.  I remembered it.  The ins and outs of the mind of a person is what sometimes makes a prediction.  Everything is okay every day and night since we stopped the humanoids from harming and wiping out the people.  After I finished eating my breakfast, I went over to the living room, turned on the television and sat down on the couch.  The news is playing.

"There has been many reports of a mysterious creature breaking out of the Moon and then flying away from it.  Though, the astronauts announced that the Moon back to normal and that people don't have to wear goggles anymore.  Dr. James Hoffman's body was found on the surface of the Moon and is about to be put into his funeral on May 27th at 1:30 P.M."

Martin is shown on the news.  He seems a little sad and depressed both at the same time.

"James was with us when we were on the Moon.  He was our helper...  and a good friend.  That's all I know about him.  Now that he's gone, it looks like he's now in a better place."

James.  A man never to be forgotten.  I always remember him because he was such a good helper.  It seems like I'll never forget about the whole experience on the Moon, but I was glad that we are okay.

I changed the channel and begin to watch my favorite show again.  Yep.  Just a cartoon television series about a skeleton.  The same guy.  It's always my favorite show to watch.  Sometimes I can go to NASA on the job and I do go there every two weeks.  Asmaltor is back to his home planet, I hope.  He was a gentle giant to us and our protector.  He did look scary but he doesn't bite the good ones.

Tha enters the room.  "You are watching Cadavre."

"Of course I am." I nodded as I smiled.

All we have in our heart is hope which is the only thing that makes us think of what will get better.  I looked out the window to see the clouds in the blue sky.  There is nothing but peace in my town and there is nothing bad happening anywhere.  As long as NASA keeps everything under control, they'll make sure that the Moon stays safe and that the bad creatures never invade it ever again.

"Want to go out for a ride?" Tha asked.

"Sure thing." I said, "Don't mind if I do."

We walked outside and hopped into my car.  I started the engine and pulled away from the driveway and onto the street.  The streets are just calm as we ride along.  I tuned the radio and listened to some music.  I smiled a little bit but a news report came on.

"It turns out that Dr. James Hoffman is still alive which he was in a coma for one night."

My eyes widened.  "James?"

I saw a bunch of people pointing out at something.  I parked the car and jumped out to see what is going on.  They are looking at something in the sky but I couldn't see it.  That's when a winged creature came down from the sky and landed on the mountains.  The insect-like beast is now the size of Manhattan.  As he looks down upon us, I spoke out his name.

"Asmaltor."
