It was seven in the morning. Krystal was currently at the gym punching away at a hanging punching bag. She couldn't sleep at all last night because the events from the masquerade kept replaying in her head. All night. So that's why she was up at the gym so early on a Sunday morning.
But even as she continued to punch the bag, flashbacks of last night kept running through her head.
*Flashback*
"She does belong here. Because I love her." He said.
Krystal froze. What did he just say? Her heart began to pick up speed again.
"No you don't!"Amy yelled. "I know you still love me! Me! You can't possibly love her. " She sneered in disgust as she glared even more at Krystal who was still frozen.
Amy's loud outburst had caught the attention of people nearby. They now had their attention on the four.
"Yes I do Amy. Not the entire world has to revolve around you. I've moved on. Yes, I may have loved you once but now I realize that it wasn't love. What Krystal and I have, that's true love."
Amy was beyond furious now. "Prove it!" She yelled.
Jason grabbed the sides of Krystal's face with both of his hands and kissed her. Hard.
Krystal's eyes involuntarily closed.
She waited for the impact of Jason's lips on hers but it never came.
What really happened was that when Jason grabbed Krystal's face with his hands, he had put his thumbs over Krystal's lips. So really, he was just kissing his thumbs. Their lips never came into contact. The way that Jason's face was tilted didn't allow people to see they weren't actually kissing.
Everyone watching did actually believe they kissed though. Including Amy.
Amy was furious! She couldn't believe he just did that! Having enough, she stormed out of the ballroom and dragging Nicholas behind her.
After Amy had left, Jason let go of Krystal's face and slowly pulled away like he didn't want to.
He looked down at her to see that her eyes were still closed.
He kept pulling away until they were an arms length away but his hands were still on her shoulders.
"Sorry about that," he said.
Krystal's eyes to snapped open. She didn't know what to do so she just kept silent as he continued to speak, only loud enough for them two to hear.
"Come on. I think this was enough for tonight."
He grabbed Krystal's arm lightly before she could reply and tugged her out of the ballroom. He seemed to have completely ignored all the whispering, probably about their 'kiss'as they left.
Not a second later that they were out of the hotel, Marshall was already there. He held the door open for them as they climbed into the back.
Marshall went back to the drivers side and drove off towards Krystal's apartment. There was an awkward silence throughout the car.
That was until Jason pressed a button and the divider between the back seat and the driver came up. Then they were completely alone. Well, as alone as they could be.
It was quiet for a few minutes until Jason spoke.
"I'm sorry about what happened. You know, that almost kissing you thing." He said quietly while scratching the back of his neck nervously.
