Jason and Krystal had ended up following Liam and Liv to a high end, classy Italian restaurant. Good. Italian was Liv's favorite.
Jason parked at the side of the road, across the restaurant, while they both watched Liam and Liv climb out of the car and walk into the restaurant. Luckily for them, Liam and Liv were seated at a table right in front a large window at the front of the restaurant. They had a clear view of them from inside Jason's car.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Krystal pulled out two binoculars and threw one to Jason. He caught it while looking at her incredulously.
"Where did you get these?," he said.
She looked at him. "A true spy never reveals his secrets."
"That's for magicians."
"Same difference," she waved off with her hand. Then she reached into her coat pocket and took out a walkie-talkie.
"What's that for?" He asked her curiously, but he was still amazed as to how she fit all that into her pocket.
"When I was picking out Liv's outfit, I attached a microphone to her necklace. That way we can listen to what they say."
Jason gave her a look of incredulous, confusion, and amazement.
"Where did you get that stuff?" he asked.
She shrugged. "I know people."
Jason just decided to not question her and leave it be.
Then they both fell into a comfortable silence while they each looked into their binoculars and listened to Liam and Liv's conversation on the walkie-talkie.
*40 minutes later*
"I'm Booorreeeddd," Krystal dragged out as she sat sideways on the passenger seat and dangled her head off the side.
She had grown bored of just sitting and listening to Liam and Liv's date. She had thought that being spies would be more fun.
She reached both arms towards Jason's arm that was closest to her and started shaking him. "Jaaasssooonnn," she whined.
He ignored her.
"Jasoooonnnnn."
Ignore.
"Jasoooonnnnn."
Ignore.
"Jasooo -"
Jason put down his binoculars and turned to face her with an irritated look on his face. "What?" he snapped.
"Why are you so quiet?"
He sighed while rubbing his temples. "Well, no one plans a murder out loud." he mumbled quietly to himself.
"What was that?"
He sighed. "Nothing."
Krystal dangled her head off the side of the seat even more. "You know what else there's nothing of? There's nothing to dooooo!"
"We've only been in the car for forty-minutes. And need I remind you that this "spying" idea was yours?!"
Krystal was silent for a few seconds, as if thinking over everything that has happened so far. Then quietly said, "Okay, so it wasn't one of my best ideas."
Jason just stared at her. Really?, he thought. This was her idea and now she's saying she's bored? Appalled, he just said, "Just shut up and look through your binoculars."
