Chapter Eleven-The Cure
The ride towards Magnus's place was a ride that Olivia thought was worst than going to hell. Now, the girl had never been to hell, but given the current situation that they were facing, she felt like she was in hell.
''How far are we?'' Clary asked, looking towards the front and then back towards Luke, who, much to her worry, continued to groan loudly in pain. His pain-filled grunts caused everyone in the car to throw him concerned and panicked glances. None of them knew how long he could survive in this condition, and honestly, they were getting worried.
Jace suddenly yelled at Simon to drive faster. However, the blonde male seemed to have forgotten the fact that Simon never drived well under pressure. And so, it came as an unpleasant surprise to him, not to the rest, when Simon nearly drove them into a wall.
''Jeez, mundane!''
''Simon, calm down.''
''Yeah, yeah. Sorry!''
Once Simon regained his control, he again started driving, and this time, in a much safer manner.
As they came out on the main road, Jace started giving directions towards Magnus's apartment, and after a few minutes of driving through the streets of New York, the group found themselves right outside the warlock's loft.
''There,'' Simon chuckled in relief, ''My driving wasn't that bad after all.''
Jace rolled his eyes. ''It was.''
''Come on.'' Olivia opened the backdoor and helped Clary in pulling a half-conscious, half-unconscious Luke out of the car. ''Take him up to Magnus's apartment,'' she instructed her sister just as Simon popped out of the driver's side and moved around the car before coming towards them. ''Here, let me help, '' he offered, taking Luke's weight off of Olivia and onto himself.
''Aren't you coming with us?'' Clary asked once she noticed that the older girl hadn't moved from her spot even a bit.
''I'll park the car and then come.''
''Uh, don't worry about that,'' Jace said from inside the car and lowered the front passenger side's window before poking his head out and looking at the three with a grin on his lips. ''I got this.''
Olivia raised her eyebrows at him and watched, along with Clary and Simon, as Jace climbed over the gear shift and plopped down in the driver's seat. ''I'll park the car somewhere safe,'' he assured the three, but because they already knew that the blond shadowhunter was unaware of the 'mundane' ways, which included learning how to drive a car, they were, therefore, not a hundred percent sure that keeping Luke's car in Jace's, in this case, incapable hands was a good decision to make.
