Chapter Eighteen-Imprisonment.
''Where the hell have you three been?''
Izzy scoffed, Ian rolled his eyes and Olivia sighed as Alec walked up to them with a stern expression on his face. ''Where we needed to be,'' Izzy looked at him in annoyance, ''Away from you and your fiancee.''
Alec ignored her attitude. ''Jace and Clary are on the run.'' he warned, ''I can't protect you three if you don't let me the truth.''
Olivia looked at him with surprise. She didn't know that he cared about her or her safety.
''Yeah, well, you don't have to worry about that.'' Ian glared at him, still annoyed at his behavior. ''Actually, you know what? You don't have to worry about anything.'' he tried to move past Alec, but the older boy quickly blocked his path. ''Just tell me this...is there any way that Raj could have seen anything incriminating?''
The three frowned and then looked over at where Lydia was interrogating Raj, who looked puzzled as he tried to describe what had happened. ''I don't think you can call it an attack if no one got injured.'' Olivia heard him say, ''We were ambushed.''
''How's that possible?'' Lydia questioned, getting annoyed at the way things had turned out. ''Nobody outside the Institute knew about the mission.''
''It was dark.'' Raj pointed out. ''We couldn't see that much.'' he sighed and blinked rapidly as he recalled the events, ''There were wolves..and the others were hit with vampires. But I swear the two that got me moved a lot like shadowhunters.''
Olivia widened her eyes and gulped. Raj could remember. What if he recalled that the shadowhunters who had attacked him were Izzy and Ian?
This was not good.
Lydia suddenly looked at them and the brunette quickly looked away before the envoy could suspect that she had been eavesdropping on their conversation.

''What is it like? This other dimension?'' Clary asked curiously, ''Is it like this one?''
''It is.'' Meliorn replied as he used his magic to create the portal to the alternate dimension. ''But it isn't,'' he added.
Jace scoffed and looked around. They were in the outskirts of the Seelie kingdom and he was feeling very wary of their surroundings and of the Seelie that was with them. ''Could you be more vague?''
''It is an alternate timeline, in a sense,'' Meliorn explained. ''There, Shadowhunters and demons no longer exist.''
''What?" Jace raised his eyebrows. A world in which shadowhunters and demons didn't exist was a weird world to imagine, but he still wondered what that world would look like; with no demons harming the 'mundanes' and no shadowhunters risking their lives to save them. It would be...peaceful.
