It's very unlikely to put a date on an impending war, especially one that involves beings of the supernatural. But, the Valerians did.

Thursday.

That's two days from now. That's two more days to prepare, two more days to train. That's two more days to pray that whatever happens isn't permanent.

The day Sierra told the group about her dream, they didn't take it lightly. Finneas commanded the people of his pack to start preparing for battle. Meaning train every single day for as long as their supernatural bodies may allow them.

"Again!!" Commands were shouted by Finneas and Claudia as Ava, Sierra, and Billie we're standing on the sidelines, watching.

While the two bestfriends watch on in awe, Billie, however, looked on with a glare. At the whole pack, and at Finneas, who refused to let her train with the rest of them.

"You're not fighting, Billie!" He said to her when they were in his office coming up with some kind of strategy to insure at least a majority of his pack's survival. "As your brother, I won't allow it, and as your alpha, I'm ordering you to stay away from the battle. Understand?"

"Ugh, fine! Damn it!"

For three whole days, the black haired girl just watched closely. She watched the way their feet moved, every angle, she observed; memorizing.

It also didn't help that Ava makes it her life's mission to make sure Billie obeys her brother's wishes. Whenever Billie would observe the fighting techniques, Ava would observe Billie just as closely.

And no, they still haven't talked about their kiss yet. Either of them both too nervous to bring it up, afraid they might scare the other off. There's also the fact that they are preparing for a literal war, none of them had any time to themselves.

"Okay, that's enough! Go get some rest, we start fresh tomorrow!" Billie heard, snapping out of whatever trance she seemed to be in and looking up to find everyone dispersing to retire back to the grounds, probably to their own homes.

Billie felt a gentle tap on her shoulder, looking up to meet soft brown eyes. The same eyes that belonged to someone that seemed to be occupying her mind lately.

"Bil?"

"Hm?" Billie said.

"We're all heading back now." Ava said, flashing Billie a soft smile. "You ok?"

Billie stood up straight and nodded her head, scoffing. "I'm fine, Av. Just peachy." Walking past Ava in the direction they first came, Billie continued as the other girl listened, "my brother— the 'big almighty alpha Finneas' thinks he can keep me from joining this fight? I'll show him..."

The more the young werewolf ranted, the more she failed to realize a certain tree branch sticking up from the ground and she was about to walk right into it.

"Billie..."

"...there is no fucking way I'm sitting out of this fight. Fuck no."

"Billie, watch your—"

"Shit, fuck, bitch!"

"—step." Ava has here eyes clenched shut as Billie fell and opened them to see Billie laying on the dirty forest ground with her legs perched up on the fallen branch, groaning.

The smaller girl tried her best to stifle her laughter, accidentally letting a few giggles slip.

"A little help would be nice, thank you." Billie's muffled voice said.

Ava carefully navigated her way through the tree branch and helped the blue-eyed girl up to her feet.

Billie sighed in relief. "Thank you." She said. "I was afraid you'd leave me or something."

"Oh, I'd never leave you."

Billie looked up in surprise, catching the hint of the double-meaning. She scanned Ava's face, studying it. Studying her. Damn, she's so beautiful, Billie thought as she looked into those soft chocolatey orbs, emitting a small blush to appear on the other girl's face as she turned away to hide it.

"You're cute when you blush." Billie said with a smirk on her face. Ava just hid her face further as the redness on her cheeks became more intense.

"Stoppp!" Ava whined, bringing her hands up to cover her face only for the other girl to remove them, keeping Ava's hands in hers.

"I'm serious, Av." The two locked eyes as Billie continued, rubbing smaller circles on the back of Ava's hands and sending chills down the other girl's spine at the gesture. "I know we haven't had a real conversation about the...kiss, but I'm just jumping here." Billie forced out a nervous laugh before continuing. "I want you to know that I liked it. Kissing you, I mean. Ever since that night, I can't seem to stop thinking about you." Billie stopped for a moment to scan Ava's face for any signs of disgust. "It sounds lame, I know but it's the truth."

More silence followed and Billie's heart began to sink further at the anticipation.

"Wow, Bil. I never thought you to be the sappy type." Ava said, completely aware of the aggressive fluttering in her stomach at Billie's confession.

Billie rolled her eyes playfully. "I'm never admitting my feelings to anybody again."

"Well, in that case, I have one last request." Ava suggested.

Billie raised her eyebrows in slight surprise and smirked. "Oh? And what's that?"

"Kiss me again."

The blue-eyed girl's smirk widened into a smile as she leaned in to take Ava's lips in hers in a soft and sensual kiss.
