The sky was pitch black, a tell-tale sign that it was very late. They could all be asleep right now. But not today. Not tonight.

Tonight, everyone was wide awake with adrenaline pumping through their veins as they shifted. Claudia and the other battle witches stayed near the house which held all the kids inside as they held a protective barrier around it. It was the strongest protection spell they've ever casted.

From the middle of the grounds to the edge of the forest, the battle between wolf and wolf proceeded as they tried their best to push the enemy further into the forest.

It's only in their wolf form where the pack can mind link to each other. Telling each other where to go and warning each other of surprise attacks like they practiced. The older wolves were in the front, leaving the teens inward, protecting the house and making sure no hostiles passed them.

Despite Billie being heir to the alpha title, she was still a teenager, meaning even she was expected to stay inward with the rest. She hated that shit, but it was Finneas' direct orders.

Bodies clashed against each other, teeth sinking into flesh, and loud growls shook the entire place. The fight went on for almost an hour, bodies started to litter the ground. Soon, there were only a few left on both sides.

Finneas made it his mission to go toe-to-toe with Victor; alpha to alpha. The other man tried to escape many times, only to be clawed and dragged by Finneas.

As Victor tried to flee once again, Finneas ran after him. Billie saw what was happening and couldn't shake the sinking feeling in her gut. She turned to one of the wolves beside her. "Hold back the line! Make sure none of these sons of bitches past you!" She said in the mind link over the mess of noises.

The brown wolf nodded once in understanding and that was enough for Billie to sprint as fast as she could to follow her brother's scent into the woods.

Meanwhile, Finneas followed Victor deep into the thick forest before coming to a stop near a clearing. Victor was now in his human form, looking over the narrow cliff before him, probably thinking about his next move.

Upon hearing a deep snarl from behind him, Victor turned around to be met with Finneas who was still in his wolf form with his large canines bared.

"Well, you got me." Victor said with a low chuckle, walking towards him. "I have to admit, you're not really the one I hoped would take me on."

Finneas crouched low, ready to attack.

"Where is your sister, anyway? Billie? She's the one I have business with. She's the one that killed my brother, so where is she?!" Victor's voice rose an octave by the end of his last sentence. "Because in order for me to be truly satisfied, she needs to be dead-"

Suddenly, Victor found himself flying across the area, his back hit a tree before falling on the ground. Slowly, he got up with a groan.

Victor looked up at Finneas with his eyes glowing gold. "Fine." He said. "I'll kill you, then her." Shifting into his wolf form, Victor lunged at Finneas. But, Finneas being faster, he was ready for the blow.

Snarls and growls once again filled everything as the two alphas clashed.

Back in Ava's room, the two girls were anxiously waiting, both more awake than ever.

Ava was pacing around the room, nearly digging holes in the floor as Sierra sat quietly. The only thing that was moving were her eyes.

They were moving fast..and Ava saw it and stopped in her tracks.

Sierra's eyes stopped moving and Ava gasped at the glowing gray color that was her best friend's eyes.

"I can't see anything.." Sierra said once here eyes returned to normal. "It's blank."
