It was all...unexpected.

It was the day before the full moon. Finneas has just finished checking in on their prisoner while everyone else were out on the grounds preparing for the battle tomorrow night.

What they didn't know was that you can never put a date on war.

After Finneas left for the night, Victor stayed leaning against the wall of his cell. Waiting.

While everyone was sound asleep, Sierra just twisted and turned in her bed as images flashed into her mind. The moon. The wolves. The woods. All repeated themselves over and over. Until she finally shot up in a panic.

"NO!" She yelled, getting out of bed and swinging the door open and running down the hall to bang on Finneas and Claudia's room, waking everyone up in the process.

"Sierra?" Claudia said once she opened the door. "What's wrong?"

Billie and Ava came out of their rooms and stood in the hallway, staring at the panic stricken girl.

"They're coming!! They're coming!!!"

"What are you taking about? I thought you said it was a full moon?" Finneas said.

"I thought it was a full moon at first. But tonight I had a closer look and-"

"Sierra, just tel us what's going on."

"THE MOON WASN'T COMPLETELY FULL!!" Sierra yelled out.

Back in the cells, Victor stood up for the first time in two days and turned towards the wall. A few moments later, the entire wall was blown out, revealing the whole Valerian pack. As soon as they laid eyes on Victor, they all bowed their heads.

"Alpha." They said and Victor smiled menacingly.

As soon as Victor stepped out of the cell, an alarm sounded, catching the attention of everybody on the grounds.

Back in the house, Billie, Finneas, and Claudia all shared similar looks before taking off. Before Billie left, though, she turned to Ava and held her face in her hands.

"You and Sierra have to stay here, oka—"

"The hell I am, I'm going with you." Ava made a move to go past the blue-eyed girl only to be pulled back.

Billie stared deeply into Ava's eyes, letting her know that this wasn't a joke. "You have to. I don't know what I would do if something were to happen to you, so please," She pleaded. "Take Sierra and lock yourself in your room."

Before Ava could respond, Billie hastily placed a lingering kiss on Ava's lips before following after her brother and Claudia.

Sierra pulled Ava by her arms into the room and did what Billie had instructed, leaving them sitting in the darkness of Ava's room as they waited anxiously.
