Ava's pov

After Finneas filled us in on everything, Billie showed me to the room I'd be staying in for the time being. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least scared of what's to come. As for Sierra, Evie was decided to show her around the grounds per Sierra's request.

Billie and I walked in silence the whole way to my room, none of us not really knowing what to say after receiving the information we've just received. Around a few corners and past a few doors, Billie led me to a large oak door at the end of the hall, opening it to reveal my stuff set up neatly on the bed for me to sort out.

"Thank you." I said as I walked past her to enter my bedroom. It was huge with wide glass sliding doors separating the room and the balcony. I had my own bathroom, so that was a plus.

The sound of Billie clearing her throat paused my optical room tour.

"There are fresh towels and sheets in the closet." She pointed to said closet. "When you're all settled in, come find me and I'll give you a proper tour around the grounds." Billie sent me a tight-lipped smile before turning around to leave.

"Thank you, by the way." I said, causing the other girl to stop in her tracks. "For saving me."

Without another word, Billie's hand clasped onto the door handle and pulled it shut behind her.

I sighed and looked down to my bags. A part of me can't help but wonder if this was all my fault. Billie killed that man to save me.

Deciding not to think much about it, I yawned, feeling a little tired at the moment. I pushed everything to the floor and crawled onto the bed. I'll put my things away later.

Narrator's pov

Evie was showing Sierra the last pack house, finally concluding the tour of the pack estate. The other girl, however, had barely paid any attention to what the young witch had to say. She's been in her own thoughts ever since finding out that werewolves and witches were, in fact, real.

Sierra couldn't help the feeling of familiarity that washed over her as the day went on. Almost like deja vu.

Sierra was jolted out of her thoughts by the sound of Evie's voice.

"And that concludes the whole tour! Any questions?" The preppy witch clapped her hands once as she turned to lay her eyes on Sierra, who she could see was only pretending to pay attention.

"Oh. Yeah, thanks." Sierra said, acting as if she was looking around.

Evie chuckled at her. "You weren't even listening to a single word I said, were you?"

The grey-eyed girl smiled sheepishly, her cheeks feeling hot in embarrassment. "No. I'm sorry, I just—", she sighed. "I got a lot on my mind right now."

"Oh, anything I can help with?"

Sierra was about to decline when she suddenly stopped and looked at Evie for a moment. "Yeah, actually. You can."

"Ok, tell me again from the beginning."

Half an hour later, Sierra found herself standing in a room similar tho Finneas' office, but this one had weird plants and had more of a feminine aesthetic.

After Sierra told Evie about the weird dreams she's been having lately, adding up to her unnatural cases of deja vu, the young witch's first instinct was to get Claudia.

"I don't really know how to explain it."

"Just try your best." Claudia said softly, trying to ease the girl a bit more. "Start with the deja vu."

Sierra sighed, thinking of a way to best describe her affliction. "Ever since I was sixteen, I've been having a lot of deja vu...a lot. Like, whenever I'd have a dream, I normally wouldn't think anything of it— because they're dreams."

Claudia nodded along while Evie observed Sierra with a thoughtful expression as she continued.

"But, a few days ago. I had a dream of this place. Everything looked so familiar and I'm just beginning to realize why. I dreamt of everything, the estate, the wolves, the bodies—"

"Wait, you dreamt of the bodies too?" Evie cut Sierra off to witch the other girl nodded at her question. The young doe-eyed witch looked at Claudia with a semi-knowing expressing.

The Head Witch turned her attention back to Sierra. "Tell me what you saw in this dream."

"I don't know," Sierra sighed. "I saw a bunch of wolves running around the estate, then, it all suddenly changed and I saw two wolves laying on the bed, sleeping." Sierra looked up at Claudia. "I also saw the Valerian mark...except, in my dream, it wasn't on their faces, but on the wall."

The room became silent as Claudia looked up to the small chandelier hanging overhead from the ceiling. Evie just stared at Sierra with her mouth hung open, making the other girl feel a little bit uneasy.

"No fucking way." Evie said, turning to look at Claudia.

"'No fucking way' what? What's happening?" Sierra asked, confused.

Claudia didn't answer, but instead made a move for the door, allowing the girls to follow as she exited the room. "We need to find Finneas."
