Ant stayed with Sapnap the rest of the night until dawn broke the sky. They talked, well Sapnap talked, Ant just listened. Sapnap was clearly upset, he just had a brush with Death not many hours ago. Sapnap explained his dream, and how he didn't know who the Clay boy was. Ant saw himself in Sapnap, a young man who was confused and angry. He felt that way once too.

During the duration of their conversation, Ant fiddled with the potion he had received from Dream. It was still full and sealed, it wasn't a trap.

"Hey." Ant called for Sapnap's attention.

"Hmm?" Sapnap hummed his response as he shifted to get more comfortable in the muddy bay.

"I'm starting to get the feeling Dream isn't the bad guy..." Ant held up the potion. It it glistened and shimmered in a glorious array of different hues of rose gold as the early morning light hit it. Ant stirred it around, in a near trance at the brilliant glow as the liquid sloshed around.

"What...?" Sapnap lifted himself up slowly, careful not to aggravate his wound.

Ant stared at him. "He jumped off a bridge after you. He saved you... Why would he do that?"

"Maybe he thinks it's a game. Can't have a player die, it's less fun that way..." Sapnap said.

Frosty blue eyes met Sapnap's amber, Ant sighed heavily. "We're both fairly injured, let's split it, get our strength up before we head into the valley." Ant offered.

Sapnap nodded. Ant opened the bottle with a satisfying 'pop'. The potion smelled sweet, like candy, the scent wafted up from the bottle and into the noses of Sapnap and Ant. Ant took a sig first, only taking half of the liquid. It felt like melted wax as it slid down Ant's throat, leaving comfortable warmth in it's wake. He felt a small tingle in his side where his now days old wound was. The slight ache that remained had vanished much to Ant's pleasure.

Next was Sapnap. He was a lot less delicate with the potion and drank it almost instantly, and of course, some went down the wrong pipe, causing him to cough. After his a little fit, he inhaled and sighed happily.

"Damn these are useful." Sapnap laughed.

"And expensive." Ant purred. He rose to his feet, disguarding the now empty bottle to the side. "Suppose we wake them? We should get a move on to catch up."

"Yeah, lazy bums have slept in enough." Sapnap rose to his feet, the potion clearly taking a grand effect as he bounced around with juvenile like energy. Ant smiled and stood up as well, brushing the muck from his trousers. Sapnap waddled his way over to the sleeping George and kicked him gently in the side. "Get up." He grumbled.

George groaned and rolled over, refusing to wake up. Bad in the other hand awoke more gracefully. He snapped up, stretching out his back. Sapnap went to work bulking himself up as he put on his armor.

As the members of his team readied themselves for the long trek forward,  Ant looked at them. He was thankful for the men. He allowed a small and selfish smile brush across his lips. Ant adjusted his leather armor, latching it on in a comfortable tightness. By now the early morning birds had sung their final melodies and had retreated back into a lazy slumber. With a deep inhales, taking in the mucky scent of the river-side, the team of gloomy boys were ready.

No one knew exactly where they were now, there was no common path to follow. George dawned his hunters' charm and attempted to find Dream's tracks. Eventually a small trail was picked up, and the men went in their way.

It was drowsy today, a constant threat of rain loomed in the air. The darkened clouds were off in the North, they had a few hours before the rain would cause them to seek shelter. With George in the lead, followed by Sapnap, then Bad and finally Ant, they walked in a line. During the duration of the quest, Ant noticed Dog's lack of loyalty to her owner.
