"I've got you..." Clay said shakily, promising George. He watched as the color finished draining from George's face. His head rolled back and his body became still. Clay squeezed George's hand just a little tighter, trying to feel his warm one last time.

"Hey George..." Clay sniffled, he desperately wanted George's scent to stain his skin. "H-Hey c'mon now... y-you gotta wake up..." He cried. "You promised we'd be okay... you promised me..."

Philza managed to get up and walk over to him. The King placed a hand on Clay's shoulder and lifted his non-wounded wing over the two boys, shielding them from the everlasting onslaught of rain.

"Clay..." Philza muttered. "He's gone-"

"No!" Clay screamed, hugging George as tightly as he could. "He's gonna freeze if he doesn't wake up soon! He hates the rain! He hates it!" He cried out. Clay took off his half-cape and wrapped it around George's shoulders as a last ditch attempt to give the boy warmth. "Please!"

Bad started crying out loud now, Ant rushed to his side, pulling the assassin into a hug. Even Sapnap, the juggernaut who was too manly to cry, was a balling mess. He too had fallen to his knees in a mess of sobs and tears. Sapnap buried his face in his hands. Why him? Of all the people, why did the gods take George?

The three princes stood back. Though Tubbo was visibly upset, he kept ramming his horns softly into Tommy's side as a form of expressing his sorrow. Tommy wrapped his arms around his friend in a brotherly hug. Wilbur looked at George with a darkened gaze. It was him who told George to stand against Ember, now look at him. Bleeding out in the arms of his lover. A romantically tragic end. Wilbur hung his head in shame.

"You ruined me George!" Clay cursed out. "I-I was so fucking content being alone! And d-dying! You had no right, George! You ruined me and made me happy! I could've- c-c-could've given up and felt okay! And you made me love you!"

Tears poured down his cheeks, mixing with the blood in George's vest. Clay hugged the body of his beloved. He hid his face into the crook of George's neck.

It was ironic, wasn't it? The very first meeting between George and Clay - not Dream but Clay - was by that stream side. George was covered with Clay's blood back then. Funny how the tables had turned now. Did George even remember their first meeting? Clay did, and he was barely conscious. He remembered a blue angel mending his wounds, giving him the life he so desperately wanted to get rid of.

It was George's doing. It was because of him that Clay managed to reach his goal and overthrow the dragon queen. It would make for one hell of a story to tell his future family. But he didn't want a future family if it wasn't with George.

"Clay-" Philza tried to reason with him but Clay wasn't having it. He pushed Philza away and cupped George's snow-white cheeks.

"I didn't mean to love you so much..." Clay confessed, trying everything to give George his own warmth. Clay gingerly placed his forehead to George's and held it there for a moment. He was the first to see the frost overcome George's body. The warmth of life had drained out of him completely.

After his attempt ended in vain, Clay slumped his arms, dropping George down, though he still held him. Even though he had won, Clay looked so defeated.

The silence was filled with sorrow, the sound of rain and gentle sobs were the only symphonies that could be heard. Technoblade stood back, leaning against one of the pillars. He watched everyone mourn the fallen archer when a scoff exited his mouth.

"Clay." Technoblade snickered as he walked over to the Prince and the Hunter. Techno reached down to place a hand on Clay's shoulder, but the prince smacked it away. Techno pressed, trying to take Clay's attention away from George.
