Secret Doors
I just wanna share how Doors of Ben&Ben relates to a lot of people.
Doors represent an opening or a closing of something. For example, they say that when a door closes, another door will be opened. And that can be opportunities. There are different opportunities that might open up at the right time for you.
But this song wants to tell people about the secret doors that a person has. That every person has their own secret doors.
It's about the fear of opening yourself fully to a person, that's why you're just opening a little and still hiding a lot in a secret door of yours. That's because of the fear of being attached to someone then you fully welcomed them with open arms but will suddenly break you.
There are instances wherein we share everything to a friend, but little did you know that your friend isn't a real one. That friend is a traitor that gained your trust to break you. To drag you down.
That's when the door of trust issues open. The fear of trusting a person will always haunt you. It will make you stop sharing a piece of you again.
And also, secret doors represents the secret thoughts that only you, yourself can hear.
There are times where you want to share something or say a lot of things but you can't say it to others or someone because of the thought that they are also experiencing the same thing or maybe the worst than what you carry.
There are a lot of words you want to say but you can't say it because you're afraid you'll hurt them or you will bother them after saying your thoughts.
That's one of the misunderstandings that a friendship might get into. Having lack of communication and the fear of bothering your friend can be a problem. Because both of you is hiding something, and you can feel it. But still keep it a secret because you don't want to add up additional burdens for your friend to carry.
And in order to avoid hurting someone, sometimes we need to lie. We need to hide the truth than tell them the truth that will hurt them. We should think about it thoroughly. For every person deserves to know the truth. Every person deserves to live away from lies. And pain is a part of life, it is inevitable.
Ben&Ben is also pertaining that we don't need to close our doors all the time. We shouldn't let the fear of opening up to someone haunt us forever.
We also need to open our secret doors and don't be scared to welcome new people in our lives. Because other people will never know what's running in your mind if you're just hiding it.
Don't lose hope. In our lives, there will be a person that will value your trust. And they should be the ones you can risk opening up for it will be worth it soon.
Having someone to listen to you is a blessing. Do not hesitate to open up to someone you trust because you can't handle all the burdens alone. Let other people help you in carrying it and help them with their burdens too.
If you'll just keep on hiding behind, you can end up losing all the good things in life. You can end up losing yourself.
It's never too late to open up your secret doors. Because as what the song says, "Time won't heal anything if you don't surrender your lies."
Surrender your lies and let the truth hurt you. And after that, time will heal all your wounds by letting go of the things you can't let go before.
