~Delilah's POV~

Halloween rolled around so quickly that I still wasn't entirely prepared for it, even right as I was looking at the tiny costume I had bought. I have to wear that tonight, I reminded myself. I had worn dresses and skirts before, but I wasn't used to heels or the tiny bits of clothing that this costume consisted of. It was just a little too far out of my comfort zone.

Still, I forced myself to get dressed up in it, feeling incredibly uncomfortable as I looked at myself in the mirror. Just as I had thought, it looked completely weird on me. The skirt was even shorter than it looked, only reaching to just above my mid-thigh, and it was tight as could be on my wide hips. Not to mention that the cropped corset was just as tight, and it was a little bit too small for my bust, making my breasts look larger than they already did.

Oh, no. I look like that horrific caricature drawing that Luke did of me.

I tried to cover up myself as best as I could, but it didn't do anything. There was no getting around this costume and how much skin it exposed. When I put on the glittery wings that the costume came with, I honestly found them a little bit irritating because my hair was so long that the wings got in the way. My hair would have to be put up.

Biting my lip, I began to look around for the death traps that were the heels I was supposed to wear with this, which I had borrowed from Kailee. They were cute, sure, but I found when I put them on that I could hardly stand in them. I knew for a fact there was simply no way that I could wear these, because I took one step and nearly face planted. Huffing, I kicked the heels off and headed into my closet, instead locating a pair of white flats that I had. To me, these were a thousand times better than the heels.

When I had on the flats, I headed back into my bedroom and put on the little amount of makeup I usually wore. I knew if Kailee or Juliana were here they'd probably make me wear more makeup, but I just didn't feel like it. It would have taken me far too long, and I wasn't good at makeup anyways.

It was as I was in the middle of trying to figure out what I should do with my hair that someone rang the doorbell, causing me to blink in surprise and glance at the clock. I wasn't sure how so much time had passed, but it was already almost eight PM. "Oh, my goodness." I whispered to myself, rushing down the steps hurriedly. I reached the front door and peeked through the peep hole, hesitating when I saw that Luke was standing there.

Before I opened the door I looked down at myself, embarrassed to think of Luke seeing me dressed like this. Sure, the entire point of me wearing this was just to prove to him that I could wear it, but it was much different now that he was actually about to see it on me. I managed to get myself to calm down a little before I opened the door, peering up at Luke as I felt a cool breeze blow into the house from outside.

Maybe he hadn't actually expected that I would wear the costume because he blinked at me, his face showing his surprise. I swallowed thickly, trying to fight off how embarrassed I was beginning to feel when his eyes wandered over my body, a slight smirk growing on his lips as he glanced up at me again. "You actually wore it." He said, sounding pleasantly surprised. I bit my lip and nodded weakly, fiddling with the end of my skirt. "It looks weird, though." I muttered, glancing down at myself. "I look like that picture you drew of me." I added.

Luke began to guffaw at my comparison, a large grin on his face as he shook his head and stepped through the threshold of the front door. I took a few steps back, watching as he swung the front door shut and shook his head in amusement. "Told you it was accurate." He teased, making my face burn.

His gaze flickered down to my feet, eyeing the flats I was wearing. "Thought you said you were going to wear heels?" He asked, cocking his head to the side in confusion. "I was going to, but I can't even stand in them, let alone walk." I told him, pouting to myself. He snorted and ran a hand through his hair, eyeing my body once again.

Feeling flustered under his intense gaze, I shied away from him a little, my face feeling warm as I crossed my arms over my torso, hugging myself almost. "Why are you hiding yourself, bubbles?" Luke asked, taking a few steps closer to me. He grabbed my wrists in his hold and turned me towards him more, pulling my arms away from my body so I wasn't hidden within them. "Y-You keep on staring at me." I said, glancing up at him. His lips twitched and he took another step towards me, pulling me close enough that my forearms became pressed up against his chest. "Can you blame me? You'd be staring, too, if you could see yourself." He retorted, raising his brows at me.

I was sure that he could see the blush that filled my cheeks. "B-But...I don't--" I went to protest when he suddenly grabbed my face, squishing my cheeks together in a way that made my lips pout out at him. "I know what you're trying to do. You're feeling uncertain about wearing this, but you look fucking breathtaking, Delilah." He assured me, looking utterly serious.

Unable to find anything to say, I weakly nodded my head. "Thank you." I whispered, my eyes flicking down to his lips. As if he were thinking of the same thing, his own gaze lowered to my mouth and he released his grip on my face, my heart beginning to pound as he pulled me closer. I flushed at having him so close, peering up at him through my lashes as I placed my hands on his chest. "You want me to kiss you, don't you?" He muttered, his voice low as he spoke. I blushed and bit my lip, nodding my head ever so slightly.

He gently grabbed the back of my neck and ducked his head down, his lips brushing against mine as I let my lids flutter shut in anticipation. I pushed up on my toes a little, gripping onto his shirt as his lips finally closed over mine. It was instinctual the way that I melted into him, shivering as I felt the hand on the back of my neck slide up into my hair, gripping it in his hand until he forced my head back a little farther.

It was enough to make me moan, which he took advantage of by letting his tongue slip into my mouth. The way he kissed me was almost as if he was trying to ravage me, his large frame pressing me back against the wall until we were flush against one another. His tongue playfully prodded at mine, swirling around mine as he kissed me roughly. His other hand settled on my lower back, pulling my hips into his as he grinded his hips against me. I gasped at the bulge I felt there, arching into him as he broke away from my lips momentarily.

"Fuck," He swore roughly, a little whimper leaving me when he nibbled gently at my bottom lip, sucking on it. His breathing was heavy, the touch of his hand moving lower down my back making me begin to realize that he was touching my bare skin.

When he pulled away altogether, I leaned into the wall a little, my legs shaking slightly from the way my heart raced so quickly. He reluctantly pulled his hands away, adjusting his pants as he shook his head and peered down at me. "We should go before I'm any more tempted by you." He said, letting out a heavy breath.

My face burned but I nodded my head in agreement, smoothing down my hair as I tried to adjust my costume one last time. Just like before, though, it did nothing. I ended up leaving my hair down, quietly following Luke out of my house. He waited patiently as I locked the door behind us and then led me down to his car, where we both got in before he began the drive to Kailee's house, which was where we were all going to be meeting up at.

I looked over at Luke as he drove and frowned. "Wait, you're not wearing a costume." I finally realized, my rather late realization making him smirk as he looked over at me briefly. He chuckled, focusing on the road as he drove. "You're a little late in noticing that." He teased, grinning to himself.

"W-Well, you had me a little bit distracted before now!" I said defensively, which only made him grin wider. He laughed to himself, mirth on his face. "Fuck," He smiled as he shook his head, glancing at me. "You're cute, bubbles." He remarked, gripping the steering wheel tighter. I felt my heart flutter at his compliment, a little smile growing on my lips as I glanced out the window. He had complimented me before, but there was something different about it this time.

I'd heard the fondness in his voice this time, and that made all the difference to me.
