Theo noticed that Liam was actung weird since he announced that he will finally have a worthy opponent, but decided to let it be. He didn't want to seem overprotective. Besides, if something was wrong, Liam would surely tell him, right?
The champion match was getting closer day by day and Theo had less than a month to prepare. He spent nearly all his free time in the MMA center and hadn't much time for Liam in these days which bothered him.
Hey babe, wanna stop by at the MMA gym today? My practice is at 3PM. Would love to see ya.
L: Not today. I'm busy, sorry. Maybe next time.
Theo furrowed his eyebrows. Did I do something wrong? He thought and decided that he'll stop by at Liam's after practice.
To his luck practice ended early. Theo was in good shape and he sent his sparing partner down to the ground with a K.O.. And that meant going home early."Theo? What are you doung here, I said I was busy." Liam stood in the doorway, blocking the entrance to his house. "Babe, stop it. I'm not a dumbass. I know Mason's up there and you teo are playing video games." Theo sighed and opened the door, pushing his smaller boyfriend out of the way. Liam opened his mouth to protest but as if Theo knew. "Shut it, cutie. Now come here and sit down." Theo said and looked at the dining chair next to him. Surprisingly, Liam made his way next to Theo and sat down without a peep.
"Okay, now will you finally tell me what's going on? I'm not blind, nor stupid, even though I've hit my head plenty of times." Theo placed Liam's cold hand into his and earned a gaze from Liam. His eyes had a glassy texture, as if Liam was about to start crying any minute now. But he didn't. "Why are you avoiding me, Li? Did I do something to upset you? I'm sorry if I did, but you have to tell me what it was."
"See, you didn't do nothing wrong, T. I'm just scared, that's all. I'm sorry, I am, really. The day you told me about the major fight, all I could see was him beating you up to unconsciousness and then the hospital, and-" Theo pulled Liam inti a long, sweet kiss, shutting him up at least for a few moments. "Wow, I didn't know that you think that I'm such a bad fighter." Theo whispered after they parted, foreheads still touching. Liam scoffed with a smile. "I never said that. I saw you multiple times. You're one of the best, I'm sure of that. But," Liam pulled back to see Theo better, "But I don't like seeing you getting beaten up. Every punch or hit you take breaks my heart, because I love you and I hate seeing it." Liam finally admitted. And in that moment Theo realized what Liam actually felt towards him.
D-Day was finally here. The day Theo was waiting for nearly his whole life. A fight with a champion.
"Baby, are you sure you wanna be here?" Theo asked Liam before he entered the locker room. "You know that you don't have to be, right? I'm not forcing you." Theo grabbed Liam's face softly in his palms and stroked his cheeks. "I know. I wanna be here. I wanna see you and I wanna be the first one you look at when you knock that arrogant bastard out." Liam laughed and leaned in for a kiss. "You should go now, love, I need to get ready. First row is waiting for ya." Theo winked and the locker room door closed shut behind him.The fight was about to begin. Liam has never seen so many people gathered at one place. Sure, most of them were fans of the champion, but Liam heard a lot of people were curious about the other one named Raeken. The California chamo wouldn't have chosen him if he was bad, would he?
The first round didn't go exactly well and Liam was starting to regret that he came. The Mexican guy was a champion for a reason and he was proudly showing it the whole five minutes. Finally the bell rang and both MMA fighters returned to their corners. Liam was up on his feet right away. "Theo!" "Hey love, no worries, I'm okay. Don't stress." Theo immediately started reassuring his horrified boyfriend. "Theo, goddamn what is this? I saw you on your practice, go knock that idiot down! Just look at him!" Liam growled and nudged his chin over to where the guy was standing. Theo's gaze followed and the champ was walking around the dojo, arms in the air, hyping up the crowd as if he already won. "He's disgusting. Theo please, I beg you, take that awful smirk down his place. You can do vetter than him! I believe in you and a lot of people here do too."
The bell rang again, announcing the start of round two. And to Liam's surprise, it was a very quick round. After two minutes, Theo striked California's champion down with one high kick. "K.O.! Beacon Hills, we have a new champion here!" The referree exclaimed and Liam couldn't believe it.
"You did it, love! You did it!" Liam laughed as they walked out of the building, followed by photographers and camera guys. But neither one of the boys cared. "I knew you'd win!" Liam pulled Theo into a passionate victory kiss. "You did, babe? All I could think about the whole time was your worried face. I was sure it was a bad idea taking you with me, but in the end, you were the support I needed the most. Thanks love. I owe you." Theo smiled and intertwined his fingers with Liam.
"Babe?" "Yeah?" "So, how's it gonna be now?" There was fesr in Liam's voice. "What do you mean?" Theo didn't understand. "So, does this mean we're breakung up? Are you leaving? You know... to build you professional MMA fighter career?" Liam didn't dare to look Theo in the eyes. "Li, listen, I'm not going anywhere," Theo moced closer to Liam, as they were sitting on the bed and pulled the younger boy into a tight hug. "I'm staying right by your side until you finish school. Then we'll be leaving together for something better, okay?" Liam looked up at Theo, but stayed quiet. "The only thing changing is that probably plenty of sponsors will want to cover my ass now, I'll probably hire a manager now and there will be more fights. But I'd never leave you. Because if it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have won." Liam finally smiled and hugged Tbeo back. "You're the best." "No, you are, Li. I love you." "I love you too."
