Phone Call

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon and Liam had already made up plans with his best friend Mason to hang out and play videogames when all of a sudden, when Liam had his last period in school, the school's bad boy Theo Raeken bursted into Mr. Yukimura's history class and rushed straight over to his boyfriend.

"Mr. Raeken? Is something wrong? Or why did you interrupt my lesson?" Mr. Yukimura asked, quite irritated.
"Oh, um, yeah. Liam wasn't feeling well so I brought him some painkillers for his migrane." Theo explained, threw few mint candies on Liam's desk and quickly whispered into his ear: "You, me date today. Be at the parking lot in twenty minutes and eat the mints. Love ya."
Liam didn't have a chance to say a word and neither had the teacher. "I'm very sorry, I'm on my way out!" Theo smiled charmingly and sprinted out of the classroom.

"Dude," Mason, who was sitting next to Liam nudged the confused boy with his elbow, "Since when do you suffer from migranes?" He hissed quietly, quite interested in Liam's new diagnose. "I don't, Theo inveted me out today." Liam explained, earned an annoyed groan from his best friend because Theo once again ruined their bestie afternoon and crunched down the candies Theo brought him. "You want a mint?" "I'm good. I'd prefer to play videogames with you but I guess mister sassypants wins again." "Stop being cranky, Mase." Liam laughed.

As told, Liam was waiting where Theo told him to be. Soon after a familiar black pick up rolled into the parking lot and Liam felt his heart skip a beat from all of the excitement.
"Hey love, so how was history? Hope you didn't get in trouble." Theo slipped off his sunglasses and pecked a kiss on Liam's cheek. Theyounger beta felt the blood rushing up to his cheeks and had to smile. "No worries. He was just curious if I was alright. But Mase was pretty pissed. I should've told you that we were supposed to hang out today after school and play games." Liam admitted, feeling bad that he rejected Mason for a car ride.

"Oh man, why didn't you say so? Go on, catch up with him, babe. I'll just go to Dunkin's by myself." Theo sighed turning off the car's engine and stared out of his window nonchalantly and maybe too dramatically.

"Hold up!" This trick always worked. When it came to food, drinks or any kind of binge eating, Liam would sell his parents to Satan himself. An amused chuckle came from Theo. "What's wrong, baby wolf? Did somebody change his mind?" Liam coughed a little and slumped back, relaxed into the passenger seat. "Don't know what're you talking about, Raeken. Mason will handle it, I'm sure. Now, are we going to sit here all day and chit chat or are we going to get some friggin' donuts?!"
Theo shook his head in disbelief and turned the keys in the engine. "Sometimes I feel more as a parent than a boyfriend, I swear to God..." He mumbled mostly to himself and turned on the radio.
"I thought you were an atheist."
"Shut up, you idiot."

They arrived to Dunkin' Donuts and placed their orders after Liam spent like a half of an hour picking out which coffee and donut combination he'd go for.

"Jesus, I really thought you'd be picking until closing hours!" Theo laughed as they both sat down at the food zone outside. "Oh, shut it! Like you can't even blame me, babe! Did you see all those new donuts?! How do you expect me to pick just one?" "I sometimes wonder why I decided to date an overgrown five year old child." The chimera sipped at his coffee with an amused gaze fixed at Liam. "Will you stop-" Liam was cut off by Theo's ringtone.

"Hold the thought, baby wolf. Your tantrum will have to wait until I handle this." Theo chuckled and pointed at his phone before getting up and walking away from the table a bit.

"Hello? Raeken speaking." Theo answered the call politely and Liam was quite surprised by the change in his voice. Usually when Theo spoke to him, it was either a loving cute tone or the sarcastic arrogant one that made Liam want to punch his boyfriend. But this was different. This tone of Theo's was actually pretty convincing and Liam almost found himself believing that Theo is actually a polite, decent human beig which certainly didn't come back from hell.
"Mhhmm, yeah, he's with me," Liam overheard a mention of himself and it immediately drew his attention to Theo's call. "Do you want to speak with him, Mrs. Geyer?" Theo smirked at Liam and the younger werewolf froze.

"What the fuck?!" He mimicked silently at Theo, throwing his arms up. Why the hell is my mom calling Theo? He thought and let his palms cover his face in embarrassment. A laugh escaped Theo's lips. "Okay, okay. I'd be honored. Thank you so much. And don't worry, I'll tell him. Bye, Mrs. Geyer."

"Dude! What was that?!" Liam squeaked.
"What? Can't I at least have good relations with your family when I can't have them with your pack?"
"No! Well, I mean yes, but why on Earth did my mom call you? What did she want?"
"You shouldn't be so nosey, baby wolf. None of your business." Theo teased and he seemed to really enjoy Liam's frustration.
"Come oooon!" Liam groaned.

In the end it turned out that Liam's phone died so his mom ended up calling Theo if Liam was okay, since he wasn't answering her calls. And Jenna really seemed to like Theo as her son's boyfriend, she suggested he should come over to dinner that day and eventually spend the night.

"Your momma is a really sweet lady, Li. I wish I remembered my mom," Theo admitted as he rolled his car keys between his fingers as they made their way to the pick up.
Theo had these nostalgic moments sometimes. It wasn't very often, since he wasn't used to opening up and sharing what's on his mind yet, but he was making great progress. At least Liam thought so.

"Love, I think your mom and even your dad would be so proud to see what kind of person you turned out to be." Liam smiled and squeezed Theo's hand tighter to reassure him.
"What? Like you mean gay?" Theo chuckled and Liam had to laugh too. "Nah, that wasn't what I had in mind. You know what I mean. Jokes aside." "Li?" "Yeah?" "Thanks. For everything. I wouldn't be who I am without you." Liam smiled widely and enjoyed the big, heartful kiss that Theo gave him. "You mean gay?" Liam snorted after that. Sometimes he really couldn't have a better timing.
"What?" Theo furrowed his brows in confusion. "Dude, Mason knew you were gay from the point I pulled you out from hell. He has a gaydar in him, I swear!"

They both broke into laughter. "Even though you're my boyfriend, I really hate you sometimes, baby wolf. You really know how to be a pain in the ass sometimes with your words." "You know I could be if you wanted." "Oh for fuck's sake! Get in the car already!" Theo growled and a chuckle followed. "We both know that's my job." He added silently.
