He always came out on top.
It might have been the one thing he was good at, besides dishing out a cocky grin that could charm any teacher into a better grade.
Robin had sat next to him in earth skills, for a while. Sometimes she would try to copy his answers, and he would let her. He wasn't sure why he did, but when he saw the knot in her brows and stress in her eyes when she didn't get it, Finn would find himself pushing the paper an inch closer to her. They never spoke of it. In fact, the pair hardly ever spoke before they were sent to earth. Besides that time she had given him her condolences about his mother, the two from mecha station had spoken most while on the ground, and the reason why was still undetermined. Maybe Finn just liked Robin a lot more than other people in the skybox, and because she bit back when he got too smug. It was different; refreshing.
Maybe it was because she didn't believe he was brave enough to be the legendary spacewalker he was made out to be, and silently, they both knew she was right. Robin had sussed him out from day one.
