[STARTS SOMEWHERE IN CHAPTER 15]
Lychee ran out. "Go to Pharis O'Green, now!" He heard the voice yell one last time before he left the house, in fear and shock.
Dirt, Minko, Potato, Koko... I'm so sorry!
Lychee cried as he ran. I'm so sorry I left you all behind, I'm sorry I couldn't protect any of you!
All of them had been killed by the demon, Tomathy. Lychee tripped as he ran. Any means of communication he once had was gone, broken, or out of reach.
When he tripped however, he fell into a hole, and started falling. The hole was white, and whatever he used to be seeing, the sky, the buildings, were now gone, engulfed in white.
He felt warm pain surround his body as he fell down the seemingly endless white void. "What..?" His tears flowed out of his eyes, confused, sad, and scared, his mind was jumbled up with thoughts and questions. He reached out and felt someone hold his hand.
It was a boy with pink hair, it was the one they saw in the photo. Lychee immediately recognized the face. Pharis.
"Wake up, Lychee, this is all fake." Pharis said as he slowly disappeared into white again. "WAIT!" Lychee scrambled to get him, but he was gone. He looked at his hands, a photo of Dirt, Minko, Potato, Koko, him, -and.. Oku..?- layed on his hand and everything suddenly went black.
He woke up, clutching his chest, there were wires connected to him, which he was too scared to remove. He felt something in his head. He was in a pod. He removed whatever was on his head with ease, and opened a small black-tinted glass latch, which led out of the pod
He as about to go out, but the wires held him back. He could only peek out of the pod. There were five other pods next to his. "Hello..?" He called out, his voice was hoarse, and it felt dry. One of the pods slowly opened, revealing a familiar brown haired girl. "Lychee..?" Koko gasped, she removed the wires that were connected to her body, and promptly ran up to him, to which she tripped, and got back up again slowly, and hugged him. "I was so.. so.. scared.." She was crying.
So was Lychee. She's alive..
The other pod to his left opened. It revealed a blue-ish haired boy. "Dirt!" Lychee held out his hand, as Koko removed the wires keeping him stuck in the pod, slowly. Lychee stood up, his legs shaking horribly. He went to Dirt and hugged him, "I thought you were dead.." Lychee whispered, crying quietly.
The others opened as well, Minko, Potato and Oku had woke up. "What happened..?" Potato asked. "I don't know either.." Dirt murmured. "Did you guys also see that boy after you 'died'?" Koko asked. "Y-yeah.." Lychee stuttured, still a bit taken-aback from what happened. Minko was next to him, comforting him. They sat down on a grey-white tiled floor, which was extremely cold to the touch. The walls were a weak white, it didnt hurt the eyes. A man suddenly appeared, opening the door. "Are you all alright?" The man had curly hair, and circle glasses. He dressed up as a doctor, of some kind.
"Uhm.. Yes, we are. Do you know what happened and where we are..?" Dirt added. "Please, lets get you something in your system, at least some water." He led them into a small cafeteria. Explaining everything that happened.
"You volunteered to try our VR, despite the warnings I gave you. You were able to go through 4 alternate universes in the game. However, you began to forget who you were, and that you were in a game. In fact, it was almost as if you forgot the moment you entered the game. There were three boys, that appeared in the last one, correct..?" He asked.
"Yes, there was, what about it..?"
"Those boys had died in that AU, the VR automatically saves any info regarding a person who lost in that AU and implements it into the AU." He murmured.
All of them went quiet. "I told you all this before you played, but... none of you remember, it seems." He sighed.
"I remember." Oku recalled. "May I ask your name, sir..?" Potato asked.
"Will Graham, you can call me just Dr. Wilbur, its my preferred name." He smiled softly.
"I'm so sorry, for what happened. I didn't expect such an anomaly to happen.. However, I put it in the contract that you signed that there are no refunds for anything that happens to you." He looked at them with a concerned face. "You are free to leave, your things are in the left hallway, you will meet Dr. George there." He opened the door of the cafeteria.--
They got out of the lab-looking place, in their own clothes and not the patient-like clothes they were wearing when they woke up. "Anyone up for a burger?" Oku suggested. "My treat." He said. "We literally almost died, Oku, seriously?" Koko laughed. "Okay, okay." Oku put up his hands in defeat. "I take that as a yes." Oku chuckled, finishing. "Dude, free food? Who would turn that down?" Dirt laughed, putting his hands inside his jacket's pockets. "Lets go then!" Minko jumped.
Lychee smiled. Everything would be okay. The sun slowly went down as they went to the nearest burger-shop. We got out.
---
"We are now ending Phase 6, Phase 7, now."
"Commencing Phase 7..."
"Subject Lychee is the only one alive, right?"
"Yes."
