Over the past two days, Loki has been distant and moody. It's like his mood has dropped significantly and whenever Epin tries to talk to him he quickly ditches the conversation and locks himself in his room. To say it hit Epin pretty hard is an understatement.
"Hey kid, what's going on with you? You have been different." Tony asks as he sits next to Epin on the couch. She has her legs pulled into her chest and her eyes trained on the tv.
"I don't know what you mean." Epin says and Tony gives her an 'are you kidding me' look. Epin rolls her eyes at him. "It's really none of your business."
"Okay, I will--" Tony tries but gets cut off.
"It's just my best friend won't talk to me and I don't know what I did wrong. Does he no longer want to be my friend. Maybe it was something I said but now it is just awkward between us. I want to talk to him but he blows me off and then I feel bad for even trying to reach out to him. I just, I don't know what I did wrong. Maybe he just doesn't like me anymore. I really care about him and he seems to have stopped caring about me. Now both of us are trying to avoid each other because it's just awkward now. This is all my fault isn't it. What did I do?" Epin rambles and Tony looks at her with wide eyes. He has never gotten her to open to him like this so he knows whatever is going on is really messing with her.
"Woah calm down. Is this friend possibly Loki?" Tony presses and Epin just sighs and puts her face in her hands.
"Of course it is Tony." Epin snaps and then gets up to get some water from the kitchen. When she gets there Loki walks by and a part of her heart flutters at the sight of him but he refuses to even look in her direction. He has a cold face and looks like when they first met and he was stuck in a cell.
"Loki.." Epin says, trying to get his attention but he simply speeds his walking and quickly exits the room. Epin's jaw clenches at the blatant ignoring and she stares down at the counter. For some reason part of her just wanted to cry. She trusted Loki more than anyone else in her life and he knew more about her than anyone else. It scares her that he was able to switch off their relationship so fast and pretend that she didn't exist.
"Epin, look maybe--" Tony speaks only to cut off again.
"I'm going to go to my room." Epin says to herself and then proceeds to teleport to her room and lock herself in.

Tony had shared this information with Steve and to say he was mad at Loki was an understatement. Steve wanted to hurt Loki for him hurting Epin. Steve and Tony both went to find Loki and they came across two asgardians talking in hushed voices.
"Hey what did you do to Epin?" Steve says, walking over to the two.
"I have done nothing. What are you talking about, mortal?" Loki snaps, not in the mood for this conversation.
"What did you do to Epin?!" Steve yells taking a step closer.
"I have done nothing but start to separate myself from her. Trust me, I do not wish to but it is necessary." Loki says, his demeanor falling slightly. Tony gives him a confused look and Loki gestures to his brother Thor.
"Friends, Loki thought it best to start to separate from Epin because we are returning to Asgard. He feared it would be too much if he stayed close with her due to our soon abrupt departing." Thor states and finally all the dots are getting connected.
"So you just started blowing Epin off? Did you tell her you are leaving or did you just decide to start acting like a dick?" Tony asks, clearly not fully understanding the logic behind Loki's decision.
