Opposites (Bakugo x Reader)

My Hero Todoroki

It was the red-eyed, blonde hair wall of a guy. He glared down at you (since he was much taller than you!), The glare alone scared you to your core.

"Oh..I'm..h-hi. I'm (L/n). I'm s-sorry about running into you earlier today."

"Tch. I've never seen you before water girl."

"I just told you it's (L/n)!"

"Whatever. I don't care. Let's just get this over with. I'm gonna shoot an AP Shot. You just stand there."

"But that's not a team move. That's just you. We'll fail." He looked annoyed. Maybe he realized you were right? You couldn't really tell with him.

"Fine. What should we do then smart ass."

"You have an explosive quirk? Can you generate just heat?"

"I can make small explosions. Not my style tho. Go big or go home." You put your hand on your chin as you think.

"We're so opposite. How could we use that to our advantage."

He let out a low growl "you sound like that damn nerd. Shut it." Your stunned silence. Somehow the quiet makes you think of an idea. "You thought of somethin didn't you? You got a stupid look on your face."

"I do."

"Well....spit it out water girl. What's the special move?"

"I can make a small puddle of water while you slowly let off some heat--"

"Explosives dumbass" he interrupted.

"Explosives...right. Small explosives which will cause steam to hide us."

"Do you not listen to me?! I attack! Not hide like a loser!"

"It would only hide us for a few seconds! When the steam expands enough to cover a good area. You can jump from a random point and attack. You couldn't be tracked or expected." He looked down at you with that soul freezing look again.

".....fine. We can try it." He turned away from you and just stood there. You felt awkward and anxious. He's confident and tough. The polar opposite of you. You were afraid and lacked any confidence. He was fire. You were water. But somehow it was easy to come up with a clever move.

All Might began calling the final pairs to show their last move. Omatsu was with Todoroki and you were excited to see what they came up with. Todoroki made a slide of some sort of ice and all of a sudden the block crumbled into pieces. Omatsu turned off his camouflage and cradled his hand. He rode the ice and hit it without a trace! "Wow" you let out. He looked stupid, but he was actually pretty strong.

After a little while, you realize you were last. Another rock was set up as you two were called on.

"Young Bakugo! I hope you treated this young lady with kindness." All Might smiled at him. Bakugo....so that's his name....

"Tch. Whatever. Let's get this over with waterworks." He motioned me over and I followed. All Might got an annoyed look on his face but said nothing.

He...I mean...Bakugo created small explosions and I poured some water over them. Steam quickly surrounded us and expanded pretty far out. I heard some gasps and woahs from the students. "TAKE THIS YOU STUPID ROCK!" Bakugo dropped in from the air and created a large explosion. Not only crushing the rock to pieces, but those pieces went flying everywhere. The noise alone terrified you. You duck and create a small bubble of water that surrounded you. You shut your eyes and hoped it was enough to protect you. You began hyperventilating as that move drained you and you were having a PTSD attack. You kept your eyes squeezed shut and covered your head. Just trying to keep the bubble around you.

"Umm...hello in there." A muffled voice called out. You opened your eyes to see All Might poking the water. "It's safe to come out now. Can you hear me in there?" He tilted his head from side to side still poking it.

You unclench your hands and the bubble releases. The pumps in your shoes suck some of the water back up to store for later.

"Are you alright?" All Might looked at you concerned. Everyone was looking at you in silence. Except Bakugo. He was pointing at you, laughing his head off.

"She got scared from a little explosion! It was even your idea dumbass!" He wiped tears away from his eyes from laughing. You try to fight back tears when you feel a hand on your back. You jump out of your skin as Todoroki was next to you.

"(F/n), breath. Your hyperventilating. Are you okay?" He...he used my first name! You try to slow your breaths but it was too much. You kept hearing the noise. The images ran through your head. Everyone looking at you. The room starts to spin as your eyes slowly shut. Your legs buckle from underneath you. You feel...Shoto grabbing you. Holding you as it all fades to black.

You're running. Tree branches whip you as you run past. No time to dodge them. Your feet ache as you step over stones and jump into a creek. The cold water is soothing to your blisters. You take a quick sip. Trying to catch your breath.

"(F/N)! (F/N)! Over here!" Crap! Did he find you?! "(F/N)!!!"
You sit up quickly gasping for air. Looking around a room you don't recognize. There's a white curtain around you and...

"Todoroki?" He was sitting beside you in a chair. Startled from how you woke up.

"It's okay. You're okay. Breath!" He put his hand on your back as you counted your breaths. Eventually slowing them down. "There. Please. Call me Shoto. How do you feel? Do you know where you are?"

"Umm...I was in the gym when I.
..oh no. Did I really pass out in front of everyone?! How embarrassing!" You cover your face with your hands.

He let out a small chuckle. "With Midorea in our class, we see it all the time don't worry. It's not new. But you are in the nurse's office. Aizawa had me stay until you woke up. Here let me go get Recovery Girl."

He left quickly but was back in a minute or two with a short, sweet-looking old lady in a white nurse uniform.

"Hello dear. Where are you? What's your name?"

"Hello...I'm (F/n) (L/n), and I'm at UA." She nodded.

"Very good. Although you weren't injured you passed out during class. Thanks to this young man, he caught you so you didn't hurt your head." She poked Shoto with a cane.

"Thank you, Shoto." He smiled warmly.

"It was nothing. Is she okay to leave?" Recovery girl nodded.

"Just be careful." You nodded and thanked her.

"Let's get you back to your dorm," Shoto said as he held the door open for you.

"You don't have to. I can walk. Wouldn't want you to go out of your way." He shook his head.

"It's close to ours. Don't worry about it. Plus Mr. Aizawa would kill me if I let you go alone."

You blushed. You didn't think he would care. Or Shoto for staying with you this whole time.
