Their Battles

   ' Today's the day. The two dimwitts are going to take their final tests for Hamon training. I hope they do well, we've run out of time at this point to train them further. We still need to find where the pillarmen are and get there. Who knows where they are? At the same time, they're looking for the stone that Lisa Lisa wears around her neck. That makes the situation even more dangerous. '

It was late into the morning and dawn would be breaking soon. I was going down the tower to wish both the boys good luck before their tests. They would be trying to tie or win against their mentors. I walked down the steps and saw them about to depart. I tapped both of their shoulders and they turned towards me.

   " I wanted to wish you both luck. You'll both do excellent, I know it. JoJo just remember you don't always need to spread your Hamon over your entire palm. Caesar focus on other techniques instead of just your bubble launcher. You can evolve that. "

   " Thanks, cara. " Caesar said smiling gently down at me.

I nodded at him before turning to JoJo.

   " JoJo, good luck. You both should get going. Lisa Lisa said she wants you both done before dawn breaks, and the sun's coming up quickly. "

   " Thanks, Y/n. "

Caesar ruffled my hair and started jogging towards two thin pillars. He would be balancing on a wire as he fought. JoJo would be on spikes. JoJo's brows were furrowed and he looked like he was deep in thought.

   " JoJo? "

His eyes found mine and the crease between his eyebrows headed and he had his old expression. I couldn't see it but he was smirking under the breathing mask.

   " Worried? "

   " For you? No. You'll do fine, I know you will. "

   " Y/n, I have a question I want to ask you. "

   " Let's walk and talk. You need to get to the connecting island to meet Loggs. "

He nodded and we started walking towards the other island that connected to the main island. 

   " What's troubling you? "

   " If I were to touch your birthmark and press it would you really disappear? "

   " Yeah, only someone of the Joestar bloodline can do it though. "

   " So, Caesar-"

   " Can't do it. "

I grabbed JoJo's hand and held it up. His gloves were fingerless and I connected my hand to his. Our palms were pressed against each other.

   " Only a Joestar blood descendent can do it. Meaning only you can do it, Joseph. You're the only descendent alive with Joestar blood. "

   " What about Granny Erina? "

   " She was married into the family. She doesn't have Jonathan's blood running through her veins. You do. So, you are the only person that can send me back by just touching and pressing on my birthmark. "

   " What if I have a child? "

   " They can send me away as well, then. Whoever your blood goes to Joseph will be able to send me away or not. "

   " This is the first time you've used my name in a conversation before. "

   " It's a very serious problem. I didn't want to leave Jonathan but I ended up doing so and he's dead. I should have protected myself better back then. Now, I'm hoping that I can live through this next battle to live my life. I don't want to leave again. "

   " I don't want you to either. " He whispered.

   " What was that? I couldn't hear you? "

   " It was nothing. Don't worry I'll make sure you live during this fight or my name isn't Joseph Joestar! "

   " Get through Loggs first JoJo. "

I stopped walking and decided to start heading back to the main island. I couldn't accompany JoJo to his battle. I wasn't allowed to interfere and to make sure I didn't I would stay back at the tower.

   " Are you not coming? "

   " No, I can't accompany you any further. "

   " Well, make sure you have a sandwich and a glass of milk ready for me when I get back. "

   " I'm your friend and comrade, not your personal maid or wife. "

   " That's not a bad idea. "

   " What? " I asked raising my eyebrow.

   " How about you become my personal maid! Or even my wife? "

   " Woah there buddy! You just skipped a lot of levels! "

   " What? It's not like it's anything important at the moment. It's to protect you. "

   " JoJo you are something else, go to your battle. "

   " Think about it princess~ " He sang as he skipped away. 

I rolled my eyes and started walking back to the main island. I could see Caesar standing on the wires high above the ground. He found his balance quickly. I smiled at the sight and walked into the tower. When I entered I bumped into Suzie Q.

   " Sorry, Suzie Q. "

   " It's fine, signora Y/n. I was just looking for you. "

   " Is there something you needed? "

   " Mrs. Lisa Lisa has requested that you take a bath and relax while the boys partake in their battles. I've got the wat warmed and ready for you. "

   " Okay, I guess. "

   ' Might as well relax my muscles a bit since I've been so tense lately. Plus she's already got it prepared. I would hate to ruin a nice calming bath. '

I followed her to the very top of the tower and into a spacious room. In the middle of the room was a bathtub filled with steaming water and bubbles. There was a towel on a small table beside the tub with many lit candles and clothes laid out for me to put on. The room smelled and felt very calming. Suzie Q shut the door behind her. I locked it and went over to the bath. I stripped myself of my clothes and sank into the hot water. I felt my back relax as I sat in the bath. I could spot the sun coming up on the horizon.

   ' They'll be done with their tests soon. Suzie Q is the only person with the key into the room, so I shouldn't be disturbed. I think I'll just daydream and soak in the water and bubbles. '
