# Jake
"Hi Nicko," Dylan mumbled, smiling at him but it was evident that she was flustered.
I raised an eyebrow at her and our eyes met for a second but she quickly looked back at the guy. I eyed the guy too, an easy grin on my lips, although I was a little suspicious. Something's going on here.
And I'm going to find out.
"Dyl, I haven't seen you out here in a long time. What brings you here?" he took a seat right next to Dylan, like real close. Dylan moved away from him.
Okay, this Nicko guy seems to be a total douche. Earlier, before I went looking for Dylan, this guy was flirting with this short, mousy girl with dark unefficiently-straightened hair. I kind of assumed they were a couple or something the way they were touching and smiling. Now, he's making moves on Dylan?
"I came to watch Jake," Dylan told him. Nicko looked at me.
"Oh, Forger, you guys know each other?" he asked us.
No, you moron, we're just total strangers making conversation about the weather.
"We met one summer," I answered.
"Oh, nice game out there, Jack." he said to me smirking.
I bet he purposely got my name wrong. Kyle knew my name even before I got here. And he's the captain. How pathetic!
"It's Jake, actually."
"Oh, right. So Dylan, how have you been?"
"Actually, Nicko, I think Jake and I need to go," Dylan said as she stood up abruptly and grabbed my arm for the second time that day, "You can go now, right?"
"Yeah, I start practice tomorrow," I said and gave Nicko a smile as Dylan pulled me away.
Dylan sighed once we were out of sight and dropped my arm. She seemed really eager to get away from that Nicko guy.
This can only mean two things.
She hates him.
Or
She likes him.
And I'm going to find out.
"Are you okay?" I asked her.
"Absolutely," she said a little bit enthusiastically.
"What was that all about?" I asked, peering intently at her.
"I don't want to talk about it," she answered.
"Okay," I put my hands up in the air in mock surrender,"So, where are we going?"
"Uhm, I don't really know. Where do you want to go?"
"Hmm, let me think about it, I'll go take a shower first."
"If I remember correctly, you take super long showers," she said as we walked to the locker rooms.
I gasped dramatically just to annoy her. "You timed my showers?"
"No! Of course not!"
"Geez, Dyl, how obssessed were you with me?"
"Ew, don't be so full of yourself, Jake."
"Seriously, Dylan, you hide in my locker, you steal my swim trunks, and you time my showers. What else do I need to know, huh?"
"Just go take a bath. You reek!"
