Ryker:
I was sitting in my house waiting for my mom to finish giving her neighbours the extra food from the the feast. I see her going to the house in front of mine. Her house. I look away and jump on my bed.
It's been 3 years and honest speaking, I'm still not over everything. I still didn't know how her parents could easily live their life knowing that their daughter might not be safe.
Faith.
That name sounds bitter to me. I never knew she could get so selfish. I really don't like talking about her but unfortunately my dumbass is head over heels for her.
I know she is never coming back, especially after knowing what her parents did with her stuff. As much as I just wanted to fly to her and meet her again but I knew I couldn't. After she left, my mom was devastated. It was like she had lost her own daughter, which she did because Faith used to say that her second mother was my mom.
I hear the front door open, probably expecting my mom to come back but am surprised to see Owen instead.
"Hey bro, wassup. " He walks in my room looking stressed.
"Hey, did something happen?" I raise my eyebrows.
"Lucy's birthday is coming up this week and I haven't gotten her anything. " He runs his hand through his hair.
"That's all? " I chuckle. Lucky for me, I'm single.
He softly punches me on my shoulder before getting up.
"Come. We are going shopping. " He drags me out of my bed.
"What? No. It's your girlfriend not mine. " I argue.
"Yes, but you are coming with me. " He rolls his eyes.
"Okay, fine. " I glare at him. I guess I really need to start going out instead of staying home and doing basically nothing.
"Jesus. " I roll my eyes as I take my coat and we head out.
---
He has bought nothing yet and we have been searching for more than an hour. I feel like I'm shopping with a girl.
Thirsty, I decide to walk to Starbucks to get something for myself to drink.
Just then, I bump into someone.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, I wasn't looking... " That voice is familiar.
Faith lakes.
I feel her stiffen up.
"Long time no see, Faith. " Bitterness dripping in my voice.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about.. " She awkwardly laughs. She always acts dumb when she gets caught and she's terrible at lying.
"Sure.. " I roll my eyes. She tries to scurry away when I pull her back to me.
"Why are you back? "
"I-uhm.. " She clears her throat. "It's for Christmas only.. " She looks every where but me.
I sigh and see Owen walking towards me. She doesn't know Owen. At least I think she doesn't.
"Hey, I finally-" He stops when he sees me holding Faith's wrists. I quickly let go and try to take him away from here when I see Lucy and another girl coming.
"Fai! Where were you? " The other girl asks Faith.
"I-I Uhm. Nothing, let's go. " She takes her hand and tries to pull them away.
