Faith:

I nervously fidget with my fingers.

I knew me and Ryker needed to talk this out. It's important. I can't just keep avoiding it.

I told him to meet me to a bridge where there is no chance for anyone to hear or see us talking or...

I should shut my thoughts.

It's freezing cold today.

"You wanted to talk? " Ryker's voice comes from my behind.

"uh..yeah. " I say startled.

"Okay, go ahead. " He comes face to face with me.

"Look, I know you want answers and I am here to give you just those. "I breathe out. He nods his head.

I sigh as I speak. "Okay so, I didn't run away because of my selfishness, okay maybe I did but you have to understand that I was tired living the life that my parents wanted okay? Like they chose my style, my look, my education and then they were about to choose my life partner for me. Do you really think I would not say anything about them wedding me to someone I didn't know? "

"You could have said no. Or at least told me. " He shrugs.

"I could, and I did. I thought you hated me because the night I was about to run away, I came to your house. I did. Guess who I was met with? Your dad." He stiffens at the mention of this dad.

"I also said no. But they didn't listen therefore leaving me with only one option. " I run my hand through my hair.

"What did he say to you? "He asks.

"He told me that you didn't want to see me and so hurt at the time, I understood and left. " I finish explaining.

"Why didn't you call? " He asks.

"Well I did. I actually did. No one answered or I was blocked by that number. You didn't call me either. "

"You're right. I didn't. Because I thought you hated me. " He says.

"Well... I guess it was all a misunderstanding. " I shrug.

"Right. Now tell me why you can't just be with me? " He eagerly asks.

"Because you are dating Cassie who is my best friend. " I say.

"I can break up with her you know? "

"And hurt her? Hell no. She has been through a lot in the past, and she has always been there for me. " I sigh.

"Fai, why can't you be selfish for once?" He runs a hand through his hair frustratingly.

"Because... I just can't. " I look at the water which is now frozen.

"Faith.. " He takes the tip of my chin and makes me look at him.

"Ryker.. " I whisper.

"Faith, I have this urge to kiss you, can I?" He whispers back.

"Yes. " With that he smashes his lips against mine. For the last time.

Before this gets intense, I pull back.

"Ryker, " He hums in response. "I think we should keep a distance with each other. " I say with a heavy heart.

"Faith.. " Before he can finish, I back up.

"It's for our own good. Please. " I plead.

"I am going to try. " He nods.

"Thanks. " I smile at him with teary eyes.

"I get it. " He nods his head again.

"Goodbye, Ryker.. " I wave as I walk away.

"Goodbye, Faith.. " He goes in the opposite direction of mine.

That's it.

That's ended.

We are done.

We had the talk.
