FRICTION
I was sulking inside my room when Nana knocked on my door.
It has been five days since my last encounter with Bryce. I still couldn't decide on what to do.
I asked for an advice but Nana and Scott wouldn't tell me what they were thinking.
I sighed and opened my door.
Nana was worried and I could tell that something was not right.
My body suddenly went to defensive mode.
"My dear, someone's looking for you downstairs." Nana informed me a bit hesitant.
"Who's that someone Nana? Maybe we need to pack up now and fly to America or something?" I said anxiously. Almost in a panic.
Nana then smiled and patted my head.
"Silly. Just go downstairs and you'll find out." She nudged my shoulder and pushed me towards the stairs.
I saw a man sitting stiffly on our couch. His broad shoulders looked familiar.
Nana cleared her throat and the man turned his face on us. I held my chest in surprise.
I nearly had a heart attack!
What was he doing here?
I suddenly felt like a deer caught in the headlights. When I remembered what happened almost a week ago, I panicked!
I turned my back and was about to ran back to my room when Nana blocked my way.
"He seemed sincere my dear. He said sorry for mistaking you for someone else." Nana said.
My eyes were pleading for her to let me go. I was so scared that maybe he would tell my mother about me.
"Go back Joi."she twisted my body to face Bryce who was looking intently at me then pushed me gently to take the steps.
Bryce was at the bottom of our stairs. I pursed my lips when I saw the distance from our couch to where he was right now.
Did he run? But why? To chase me or something?
I furrowed my brows when he offered me a hesitant smile. His eyes were dimmed and looked miserable.
I parted my lips in awe. I could see the deep regret in his eyes.
His eyes that are always shining were dim. Did I made him like that?
I looked away. I just couldn't stand him being sorrowful.
Nana pushed me harder on my last step and I lost my balance.
My eyes widened in shock. I saw Bryce move quickly to catch me. It was so fast that I closed my eyes hard when I hit my lips on something. My hands clutched Bryce's broad shoulders and his arms encircled my waist.
I heard Nana giggled so I opened my eyes.
I suddenly pushed my face off Bryce's face. He was carefully watching my expression.
I felt my face heated up in embarrassment.
I opened my mouth to say something but the kiss made me speechless.
Bryce placed his index finger on my chin and shut my mouth.
I pressed my lips together. More embarrassed that ever.
"Well kids, I'll leave you two alone alright?" Nana singsonged then fled inside our kitchen.
I just watched her back then I heard Bryce cleared his throat.
