The Doomsday Project

Third Person's POV

We start with a view of the Doomsday Machine as the device is surrounded by a high, security wall. In a temporary HQ nearby, where Robotnik is standing looking through the windows, hands clasped behind him, gazing admiringly out at the machine with Snively by his side "An object of beauty, don't you agree, Snively?" Robotnik asks "Very lovely. Sir" Snively said "Within twenty-four hours, I will control every inch of this planet" Robotnik said and chuckles "Every inch!" He said and holds up a remote and points it at the Machine "The dream begins" Robotnik said and pushes a button. A red light blinks on and Snively chuckles himself as the engines roar to life, smoke billowing from exhaust vents. The ground shaking from their power. Robotnik smiles as the entire building atop which he stands shakes violently. Robotnik inhales deeply before letting out a contented sigh and smiles "Now that, is beautiful music, Snively" Robotnik said "Beautiful, sir" Snively said as the machine's engine beams shoot out in all directions and massive tubes telescope from the machine, striking the ground.

*Meanwhile at Knothole*

Sonic and Brody are with Rotor Walrus in his workshop, as Rotor is working on his latest invention for the Freedom Fighters "How much longer, Rote?" Sonic asks "Nearly done, Sonic" Rotor said as Sonic and Brody pace impatiently "Ready!" Rotor said and presents what appears to be nothing more than a water balloon to Sonic and Brody "What's the target?" Brody asks "That pile of scrap metal" Rotor said "I'll give it the old fastball!" Brody said and grunts as he fires the balloon at the scrap metal. When it bursts, it releases a cloud of dust. When is clears, the scrap metal is no more, completely dissolved by the solution that was in the balloon "Whoa!" Rotor said "Man...Way cool, Rote! How many of those balloons can you make?" Sonic asks "About twenty-five" Rotor said "Rote, I guarantee that they're going to do some serious damage to Robuttnik's Doomsday Machine" Brody said and looks at his watch "Ooh, we gotta check the lookout Sonic. Later, Rote!" Brody said as he and Sonic speed off as Rotor returns to his work. A full moon gives the forest an eerie glow and backlights the lookout post high in a tree where Antoine yawns, fighting sleep, when Sonic and Brody roar up and finds him having dozed off, much to Sonic and Brody's annoyance when they find him "Ah, Princess Sally I love you" Antoine said yawning "Oh, man...if brains had hair, he'd be a cue ball" Sonic said "Yo, Ante!" Brody said "Ahhhhhhhhh!" Antoine said and jumps straight up, banging his head on the branch above, before plummeting to the ground, screaming. Sonic and Brody manage to race down and catch him before he hits the ground. Antoine is still whimpering and covering his eyes "Ante!" Sonic and Brody said and Antoine uncovers his eyes, sighs with relief "My goodness...are you the angels?" Antoine asks "Oh, man..." Brody said and the two drop Antoine "I am living?" Antoine asks "Unfortunately..." Sonic said "Oui! Oui! I am not squished like a rug" Antoine said and sighs "Thank goodness to me" He said when the ground beneath them cracks open. Sonic and Brody grab Antoine and streak away as a huge tube thrusts up out of the ground and a Doomsday pod emerges. Sonic and Brody skid up nearby. The three stare at the pod "Whoa! What's up with this?!" Sonic asks "What is this terrible thing?!" Antoine asks "A Doomsday Pod. Robuttnik suckered us!" Brody said as it sits quietly for a beat, then suddenly beams shoot out, withering the grass around it. As the ground trembles and actually glows, it blackens, then the ground slowly dissolves into a toxic cesspool. The warning bell glints in the moonlight. Sonic and Brody skid to a stop, a trembling Antoine clinging behind them "Sound the alarm, Ante" Sonic said "Oui, Oui" Antoine said as Sonic and Brody blast off as Antoine starts ringing the bell. In Rotor's Workshop with the bell clanging in the distance. Rotor hustles out, rubbing his eyes as Sonic and Brody skid up to him " Sonic, Brody, what's..." Rotor said "The Doomsday Pod's in the meadow, wasting the whole place!" Brody said breathless "But the report said next week-" Rotor said "Rote, I need a metal-eatin' balloon mondo pronto!" Sonic said as Rotor, Brody and him run inside. The Doomsday Pod moves in nearby and unleashes its lasers all over in the area next to Rotor's workshop, scorching a swath of destruction straight for the huts, an enormous tree in its path. The base of three light beams travel beneath the tree, engulfing its roots. The soil churns as the roots vaporize. A loud creaking sound comes as the tree starts to fall "Oh man!" Sonic and Brody said as they react to the creaking sound as Rotor pulls a crate off a shelf. Sonic and Brody blast to the door, then streak back as Rotor removes three of the metal-eating balloons from straw packing "Rote! Let's jam!" Sonic and Brody said as they grab Rotor and they blast for the door "But Sonic and Brody...!" Rotor said as him, Sonic and Brody roar out the door just as the tree smashes the workshop flat. Rotor looks back, wide-eyed at the loss of his workshop and all his equipment "Oh no! My workshop!" Rotor said "Gimme me one of those balloons!" Brody said as he grabs one of the three balloons Rotor was able to save and goes to confront the Doomsday Pod and the pod surges forward, headed for the huts, leaving a wide path of glowing destruction behind it. Brody skids up in front of the pod, he cocks his arm "Adios, pod-breath!" Brody said and hurls the balloon and it directly hits the pod. The pod vaporizes in a cloud of green smoke "Yes!" Brody said.
