"I think, dear Lord.
I have existed enough."

"Aaand, we're here." Haliya stopped the car, pulled off her gloves and massaged her fingers. It had been a long ride all the way from Lagos.

She looked at Somma, through the rearview mirror. "Somma, do you want to-"

Somma ignored her and kicked the door open, stepped out of the car and opened the boot, lugging her bags with her, into the hotel.

Haliya frowned. "Bitch."

Zain popped her head between the front seats to grin at Haliya. "You actually deserve it this time. Reconstructive surgery? Spineless pushover? Liya, what the fuck?"

Haliya ground her teeth. "She annoyed me, okay? She made me look like a fool in front of that slut."

"After the talk show, I suggest you find another nickname for Kosi."

"Whore?"

Zain facepalmed herself. Shook her head and whipped out her phone. "It's been only a few hours and #JusticeforQueen is trending already. You can't win this one, Liya. Back the fuck off."

She rolled her eyes, chewed her gum slowly and regarded her condescendingly. "I'm Haliya. I always win."

"At losing." Zain quipped.

Haliya stopped and smiled a fake, saccharine smile and was about to say something when Caro joined in the conversation.

"Besides, Somma is our friend." Caro spoke up, from filing her nails, "you shouldn't have done that. You know how she gets."

"And its been what? Three months already? She won't forgive you this time unless you apologize." Zain murmured, a contented smile on her lips. "And when you're ready to do that, tell me so i can record it."

Haliya displayed another saccharine smile and tossed two fuck-yous in the air for both of them.

I left the car when they were still laughing and bantering among each other.

"Kam!" A feminine voice called me when I entered into the hotel. I whirled around only to find Somma in the middle of the reception area, looking as confused as ever.

She walked to me, pulling her bag along. "Hey." She tried to smile, her baby cheeks dimpled.

Somma was practically the cutest, most innocent looking girl I've ever laid my eyes on. She smiled one of her soft smiles with Bambi eyes.

"Hey." I greeted.

"Uh... So, I wanted to ask-"

"You're lost."

She blushed furiously. "W...well..."

I laughed and shook my head. "Let's sign in first."

As we navigated our way to her room, she was incredibly quiet and kept blushing out of her mind.

We got to her door and she whispered, "thank you," wanted to step inside but stopped, turned around and wouldn't look up at me.

"S...so... Do you..." She bit her lip and tried to sound nonchalant, while tugging on the sleeves of her sweater. "Do you think Jemi will make it to Dynamis?"

My spine straightened. "Jemi?" Of all people?

She played with her fingers. "Well... Yes. Jemi."

"Somma," I murmured, "you have a crush on Jemi."

I didn't think it was possible but she blushed even redder. Her cheeks and neck were the colour of a tomato.
