[R/D]chapter fifteen: nightmare basement.

(Y/n) POV, flashback to 10 days before Toby~~~~~~~~

Ever since we saw that man, the one who was turning, Cherit hasnt been the same, shes been more secretive, and that letter...she wont let me near anywhere that it's at, I'm worried, she's never been secluded towards me, we've always been open and honest with each other.

Shes been working on the truck we got, shes determined to head to Denver in it, at this point, its like all she cares about is reaching Denver.

"Cher...? Are you hungry?"
I ask, showing her a bar of candy, shes always loved this brand.

"No, I'm not."
Cherit says coldly, keeping her eyes on the road, it's been two days of almost non stop driving.

I put the candy bar down, looking towards the letter, she has it in the glove box.

"So..."
I mumble.

"I have to focus (y/n), read a book or something, I'm sure you still have one in your backpack"
Cher says, I sigh and look out the window, watching the muertos pass by, the trees starting to turn orange and yellow.

"Why are you so quiet lately?"
I ask.

"I am not, I'm just...focused."
Cher says.

"...was it the man from the gara--"

"Dont you remind me!"
Cher hisses, I shut my mouth and stare at her in surprise.

"...let's just focus on getting to Denver."
Cher says quietly...I'm done with this Denver shit.

(Y/n), no worries after Denver. (Y/n), no problems after Denver, (Y/N), I'LL IGNORE YOUR BITE BECAUSE ALL IM THINKING ABOUT IS GETTING TO FUCKING DENVER. IM SO. SICK. OF. DENVER.

"Denver?! It's always fucking Denver, is that the only thing you think about?! You're blindly following a promise you dont even know is true!"
I yell, Cher stops looking at the road, glaring daggers at me.

"I'm only doing this to save you! Cant you see that this is to protect you?!"
Cher yells, unknowingly stepping on the gas.

"Its been almost two months since I was bitten, people turn after four days!!"
I yell.

"I'm not taking chances on this, I cant let you die because I thought I couldnt make it!"
Cher yells.

"Cher can you just--"
I'm cut off by a loud thump, I accidentally distracted Cher and we went off road.

"FUCK!"
Cher yells, the truck turns over and starts flipping, sounds of broken glass and tumbling people are all I hear.

Then, it all goes black.

Flashback over~~~~~~~~~~~~

I wake up on a pallet, the floor is cold and I'm stiff as fuck, I dont remember how I got here, one second I'm with Noah, the next I'm here.

"Ah, you're awake."
A voice says, I immediately jolt from my position and look around.

"hey! You'll get hurt if you're not careful!"
The voice says, from a hall steps out a  boy that looks around my age, he has a gun on his side, those are hard to come by nowadays.

"Who are you and where is my group?!"
I yell, trying to get up, but failing and falling, a massive pain is suddenly obvious in my leg.

"I didnt think youd be hurt, I guess I should've planned more."
The boy says, walking towards me and looking at my leg, I look down and see that it has bandages on it, did he do this?

"Where am I, and where are the people I'm with?"
I ask, trying not to upset the dick with a gun.

"The two guys you had with you are still on the top floor, as for the creature you had with you....its seen better days."
The boy says, his words sent a chill down my spine. [Am I the only one imagining him having Levi's voice?]

"...what did you do to Noah?"
I ask, the boy shows a disgusted face.

"Dont name it, it's an inhuman creature, not a pet, and I didnt do anything, it simply got caught in my distraction attempt and fell to a second death."
The boy says, his monotone voice is horrifying for some reason.

"Distraction...?"
I mumble.

"You're safe, dont worry, they have no idea you're here, they can't get to you."
The boy says, grabbing my hand gently and staring at me.

Before I can answer, or more likely, yell, a familiar roar comes in from far away, I smile and look towards my kidnapper.

"Ha! Noah's coming to save me!"
I yell, smiling widely, he frowns and looks towards where the noise came from.

"10 minutes....then again, its hurt, but with how relentless the fucker was...shit."
The boy mumbles to himself, then stops, slowly turning to look at me.

"Close your eyes."
The boy says, I cant even answer before he picks me up and starts running.

"What the fuck?! NOAH!!"
I yell at the top of my lungs, the boy shifts to where he can hold his hand over my mouth.

"Shut it, I'm trying to keep you safe!"
The boy says.

Noah POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I try to run on all fours, but my leg was hurt pretty badly when the building collapsed, I can hear the fuckers boots, they're running, they must've heard me...they wont get away with (y/n), I wont let them take a step outside before I tear them limb from limb!

I won't let them have the satisfaction of living, not after this.

I put my head to the wall and listen, the boots stopped, I dont know where they are, they're trying to outsmart me...and it's working.

(Y/n), please, i need to find you...

(Y/n) POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I try to struggle from his grip, but hes dead set on keeping me here.

"Tch..."
He scoffs, jumping and grabbing a ladder attached to the ceiling, hes realized Noah can probably hear him, so hes taking precautions, on the plus side, he took the hand on my mouth off to grab the ladder.

"Why are you doing this?! Let me go you asshole!"
I yell, trying again to get out of his grip.

"One more time and I'll gag you."
The boy threatens.

I look over and see a window, hes climbing to ground floor....hes about to kidnap me, but the second we reach it, theres banging noises, coming from the left and below us...Its my group, they're coming to save me!

"Shit...I cant let them hear you...not when im this close."
The boy says, before looking at me and frowning sadly, why is he sad? The bastards trying to kidnap me!

"I'm going to regret this, but I cant let them catch me when I'm so close..."
The boy says.

....regret? What's he going to do?
