CHAPTER 6
Gabriel
I'm getting tired of watching Uriel walk back and forth in a worried with a mix of anger manner. He's wearing his heavenly skin just like me while Raph, who's sitting on the other side of the room, is on his mortal form, with an expression I have already got used to see on his face.
Regret. Longing. Dying hope.
Ilang sandali kong pinagmasdan si Raphael, pinag-aaralan ang kanyang modernong anyo at seryosong ekspresyon. It was the same seriousness he was known for, yet in his eyes were painted another hidden story.
I wonder when will we ever see his rare genuine smile. I actually miss that.
Maybe once everything is already okay again...
A sigh escaped Uriel's lips.
"Michael's gonna be furious. What Desmond did yesterday's going to add more fuel to his burning rage.
"So it's true. He really exposed himself to the mortal."
He performed a miracle without a permission, breaking the code twice..."
Nagsalubong ang aking mga kilay sa narinig. "I thought you already locked him up after breaking the code for the first time? How'd he manage to do it twice?"
"Desmond was called for a punishment for showing himself to the mortal by removing the wall between the layers of reality separating them but he didn't show up. We found out he exposed his heavenly form to the girl again and worse, even let her touch his wings...and then gave her the immortal kiss. That's when he began suffering the consequences of his actions, making him forced to return to us to prevent his wings from getting burned...but," he sighed sharply, "when he found out that the girl almost died for committing suicide, he escaped from us to see her...and give her half of his remaining strength by performing another immortal kiss."
Nanlaki ang aking mga mata. "Please tell me the girl didn't commit suicide just to prove his existence..."
Umigting ang kanyang panga. "She did, but since Desmond was already under the custody of the higher council when it happened, her temporary, or by the way things look right now, her new and permanent guardian wasn't strong enough to save her since he hasn't gained strength from her faith yet, the girl still got hurt really bad, sending her in a critical condition."
Silence enveloped us for a moment. A familiar pain struck me as I remembered someone did the same before...someone really close to Raphael's heart...
"Our brethren is in love with the mortal..." I uttered in a low, sad tone before gazing back to Uriel. "Where's Desmond now?"
He's got burns and bruises almost all over his body and some of his feathers were already burnt.
