Secret Baby

Chapter 5

I stare at the same tree I've been staring at for probably an hour or so, tapping my fingers on my leg, leaning back on the tree.
I feel something in my stomach and smile, putting my hands gently where I feel it. The little foot kicked where my hand was.
"Sweet little baby," I whispered. "It's okay, we'll be home soon. With daddy and grandma. And you know what? You're gonna be safe. You're gonna be safe as ever, I promise. I promise I won't let anyone hurt you." I said softly, sounding like an idiot for talking to my stomach.
I decided to get up again and keep looking for a way out of this forest.
"Kaitlyn!" I suddenly hear a shout.
"J-Justin?" I yell back.
Suddenly I see a figure running towards me. As it gets closer I see it's Justin. He finally gets me and pulls me into a hug, I hug back.
"Justin! You're here. I was lost." I say, frowning.
"It's okay Kaitlyn, you're safe now. I know the way from here." He says and I start to follow him.
I finally start to recognize the direction we're going in. It finally looks like home. I smile, I couldn't be more happier with anything right now.

I wake up next to Justin. Justin looks at me, "H-hey." I say.
He smiles, "Good morning. How's my family doing?"
I chuckle and put my hands on my stomach but quickly frown, feeling something odd, "J-Justin!" I panic, "The baby-we need help. Something's not right. I don't know, it could be time but she-he's just-something's different."
"Oh geez Kaitlyn!" Justin jumps out of the bed, "Stay here... I'll go get your mom. Just stay calm." Justin rushes out of the room.
I'm in tears. The baby wasn't moving...

I wake up to the sound of crying noises. Justin's in the room with me.
"There's mommy." Justin says, holding a tiny thing in his arms.
I look at Justin confused, "Wh-what happened?" I say.
"Your mom said you probably wouldn't remember by morning. They gave you a pain reliever that seems to trigger memory lose."
"O-oh. So, I gave birth?.." I asked, wondering how it happened so quickly.
Justin nods, "Meet your son." He smiles, handing me the baby.
I look down at his eyes and stare in awe. He was all mine.
Suddenly my mom rushes in the room, "T-the other, it's not gonna make-" She looks to see I'm awake, "Oh, good morning Kaitlyn."
"The other?!" I start to freak out, "What do you mean other?! And what do you mean she's not gonna make it?!"
The baby starts crying at my tone. I have tears in my eyes.
"Kaitlyn, just calm down. We can explain." Justin says.

"Kaitlyn! Wake up." Justin says shaking me gently. When I wake up the first thing I do is place my hands on my stomach to feel a baby and I smile in relief.
"Good, you were having another nightmare." He says.
"So-the baby's okay?" I say softly.
"I'm pretty sure." Justin says.
I start to worry, "Justin-I just don't know if I can do this." I frown.
