After the children introduced themselves to Terra they went outside to play. Me mother and Terra are sitting on a pile of hay in a comfortable silence.
Our cave is pretty big. The opening is hidden by a couple of bushes and vines. You walk in and you see a big open space with piles of hay here and there for seats. There was also natural indentions in the walls we use for shelves. In the back of the den there's the opening for another door. It leads into the bad chamber. The bed chamber is a little smaller than the den. It has six hay beds with a couple of torn up blankets. The cave wasn't the vast home but it was our only safe spot.
"Allie! Nicholas is in trouble! He fell in the stream!" Kristianna came in yelling. We all raced to the spot and found Nicholas barely keeping his head above the surface of the rushing water.
Terra jumped into the water without taking off her cloths. She swam swiftly to the little boy. He sunk under just as she reached him. She dove under and we all held our breath. Five seconds, ten seconds.
All of a sudden they both came back up. Terra dragged our brother up the shore and we rushed toward them. He wasn't breathing. Terra begins performing CPR. I have never been so scared in my life. Everyone was a deathly pale. Tears forming in all our eyes.
*cough cough* Nicholas started spitting up water and we all started crying in relief. I picked him up and carried him back home. Setting him down I set out on orders.
"Kristianna boil some water. Jacob warm up some food. Brianna get some warm cloths, I don't care whose." They all scampered off to fulfill my demands. Terra is just standing in the corner watching with interest.
"Mom will you go get Terra a dry pair of cloths?" Mom walked out of the room and fetched some sweats and T-shirt.
"Thank you." Terra said changimg.
"No thank you. You saved my babies life. We are all in debt to you." Mother engulfed her in a bear hug, kissing her forehead. Terra seemed surprised.
"It's alright. You all took me in so we're even. Deal?"
"Deal." I said knowing she was right.
