I woke with a start. Sobbing into the small torn up blanket that was mine. Fortunately when we escaped we grabbed a couple items. I got up slowly after I was done and saw everyone sleeping peacefully. It was just before sunrise. I could barely see the pink on the horizon. I got up and slipped out of the cave.

Our home was a large cave in the forest. It was weird that a cave would be In the forest but I'm not complaining. It has given us shelter for about four years.

There was a small stream next to it that had clean water. Deciding that it was warm enough I slipped out of my small sundress and eased into the water. The coolness was wonderful against my skin. Washing the dirt and grime off, I made a mental note to wash the other kids. Using the sun to dry me off I decided to go to my happy place.

Still naked with my cloths in hand I followed the stream. After about three minutes of walking I found the huge oak tree. Deciding I was dry enough I dressed and jumped into the tree and climbed. I reached the top in no time.

The oak tree was the tree i spent a lot of time in. the tree soothed me and made me happy. Looking out into the forest with my cat eyes I noticed something.

A wolf. At first I thought it was just a wild wolf from the nearby pack but then I caught the smell. This wasn't a regular wolf. This was a shifter! I swiftly jumped toward it through the trees careful to be silent. I was above it and realized it was sleeping. It was a smaller wolf. A soft gray color with a cream underside. She was horribly kept with mud and tangles in her coat. Looking around I concluded it was alone.

Fury grew inside me. How dare she come into these woods? How dare she interrupt my happy place? How dare she come so close to my home? It was her species that took away our home and father.

I let my self fall and land next to her without a sound. I kicked her in the ribs with a growl that even I thought was in possible to make. She yelped and shot up. Crouching low I snarled at her cowering figure.

"SHIFT." I demanded loving the fact that she was scared. She shifted and I was surprised to see a young girl about my age with tangled blonde hair.

She was taller than me with green blue eyes. Her hair was about shoulder length with mud and sticks in it. Her whole body was covered in bruises and dirt.

"Please don't hurt me ill do whatever you want, I swear I won't tell anyone about you. Please spare my life. I'm just a rogue." She pleaded crying so hard she started to hiccup.

For a second I forgot what she was. Instead I saw a scared girl that needed help. A girl with a scarred past.

"What's your name?" I asked softly.

"Terra, my names Terra." She said quickly afraid of what I might do if she didn't answer.

"Where's your pack? Are they close?" I was scared for my family. If her pack was near they could kill us.

"I don't have a pack. They kicked me out." She spoke so soft I almost didn't hear her.

"I've been running for a month now. There nowhere near here." I wasn't surprised that they kicked her out. That's why wolves are scum. Just because they dont like someone they'll kick them out or kill them. I felt sorry for her.

"Come with me. I said turning and walking toward the stream. I helped her wash her hair and body and realized just how bad she was beat up.
