It's all my fault. I've been to confident. As if the world couldn't hurt me. I've acted like I can't die. But I can. And so can lane. He's been in a comatose state for a week now. He's halfway healed and yet he won't wake up. My heart breaks a little more every second he's not awake. And it's all my fault. I should have been more attentive. I should have pushed my baby away and taken the beating myself. But I didn't. I watched in the safety of his arms as blood was shed from his veins. I was so scared. I didn't know what to do at the time. If I can't protect my baby then how will I protect the whole world. I'm useless.
I'm in a hospital room with my beloved. Lane is laying on the bed, pale faced and shaky breathed. The doctor doesn't know what's going to happen. He should have woken up by now.
Angelique is next to me with an arm around my shoulder. If she hasn't of come lane would be dead. Leaning into her embrace I cry for the last time. After this I won't cry again. Ill be strong until lane wakes up. He has to.
"Hun, you should eat." The luna says trying to coax me away.
"No." I hiss pulling away.
"I'm staying with lane until he wakes. I don't care if I eat. I need lane." I say turning back to my mate.
"Please wake up. I need you. Without you, how will I have the strength to fulfill my destiny. If you die ill die inside. I won't be able to carry on." I whisper, burying my head in his chest.
"You can do it." His voice says in my head.
"No I cant. Your my everything." I sob.
"And you are mine as well." I feel crazy.
I hear him speaking to me in my mind. If this is how I am while he's alive then I dread his death.
"Look up my love." He says. I feel a hand on my shoulder that sends sparks down my spine. My head flys up and I look into my mates beautiful chocolate eyes.
"Lane." I whisper.
"Allie." He whispers back.
Throwing my arms around him I laugh is pure happiness.
"I was so scared you would die." I looked up and he's smiling. He reaches up and wipes away the tears I didn't know where falling.
"I'm not going anywhere." My lips meet his and fireworks go off. Best kiss ever.
"Nice to see you lane." Angelique says smiling.
"Who's this." Lane asks sitting up.
"This is the luna Angelique. She saved your life." I say.
I didn't mention the fact that she helped me escape this place the first time in vase someone was listening.
"It's very nice to meet you, and thank you for helping me." He smiles warmly.
"Of course. Ill give you two some privacy." She walked out the door and I continued to hug and kiss lane.
"I missed you so much." I say an hour later after I got over the shock of lane coming back.
"And I you." He says pulling me closer.
"So what happened while I was asleep." He asks.
"Well, Shane is making an attack on Zane's primary pack, the one we were at with my family, in about a week. You know what that means." I say in a whisper. He tenses.
"Yes, I know." His voice is barely audible.
