Chapter Five: Hide And Trace Back
"Fine!" the young red haired girl hollered at her mother. She stormed out of the kitchen and out of the closed restaurant. She was obviously very angry at her very own mother. Her mother practically locked her down on their company just because she was the next owner. But she needed freedom. Merida Dunbroch needs freedom here and there. Not only that, her mother tried to set her up to rich boys which would make their companies go strong. Didn't her own mother know she has a boyfriend?!
Oh...thinking about that situation, she...never got to the point that she does have a boyfriend. Whoops! Even though her and Eret have been dating for years...she never got to the point to tell her parents which made them think that she's single. But, on her defence, how could you tell your parents that you're dating the brother of their enemy? It's practically impossible and the fact that they're so strict on her made it more impossible. They'll practically kill her!
Groaning in frustration, she got in her Mercedes Benz (yes she has a car) and just drove off, wanting to just get away from all this mess. Because she can't do this at all.

A knock on the door emitted causing the young girl to look up when she picked up her bag. "Hey, can I talk to you?" Jack asked one fine night, a pile of files on his hand with a bag slung over his shoulder.
Elsa stacked up the files on her desk neatly. "Can we talk about this tomorrow?" she suggested. "I have an early conference tomorrow and I need to get a good night sleep." That wasn't a lie at all. Sure, she did have a conference tomorrow but that isn't until noon. But another thing is that she doesn't want to talk to him because she knows what he's going to say.
He blocked the door, not letting her be trapped on her own office. "Please, it'll be just a minute," he pleaded, giving that look that once made her giggle and surrender. Now...wow, looking at it, nothing changed. It still made her want to surrender to him and giggle by his face. He knew the face he wore was her weakness for her. He knew that from the start and it looked like it was working since she was looking down and biting her lip.
She sighed, knowing that she's not going to win this battle because he knew very well. "Fine," she nodded. She took a step back and crossed her arms. She awaited for him.
He gave a soft smile, knowing that he has ths chance to tell her but he wanted it to be where she can trust him again. What he said surprised the girl, asking, "Is the Japan conference tomorrow?" He seemed to notice hope rising down her, he can see it but he's trying. He's trying to start over. "Because I have no time. I have full schedule."
The platinum blonde hair girl took a breath. "Actually, it's been pushed back a week since they were full as well," she answered in an office manner voice. She know she doesn't have to use this voice with her friends but it felt like she needed to. Like it was an instinct. Like how she told him she loves him because of the same situation.
That day replayed on the back of her mind like it was how she's practicing what she says on her conferences. That day flashed before her eyes like Jack was wearing his usual outfit like that day. Like the place around wasn't her office instead it was the park where all of her friends all went together. There was Merida and Eret climbing up a tree to see who's the fastest. The two were very competitive at each other. The couple Anna and Kristoff was on the playgrounds, meeting kids and playing (high fiving them also) with them. The other two, Rapunzel and Eugene were laid across their blanket, staring up into the clouds with their hands entwined. Hiccup and Astrid were no where to be found since they were never got to the park. All they knew was that they got into Hiccup's car. They all saw them park but they never got out of the car...
Elsa's head turned back to Jack who asked if she wanted to discover the park more. Her mere answer was just a nod not because she did want to see the park more, because she wanted to spend time with him. Wasn't that obvious? He simply entwined his hand unto hers softly and both sat up. He gave that soft smile. That soft smile that was contagious to her. That soft smile he only gives to her because it means that she's the only one who he'll be soft on.
Soft.
That's what his hands felt like and that, also, how his lips feel like. Sighing softly, the two sat down on the bench which overlooked the view they were. And on this view was the city lights that lit up the whole view. You could tell that she was amazed by the view even though she has seen the city lights before. It always surprised her no matter how much she's seen it. It was the feeling about it was the one she loved most. It was the feeling she was grasping Jack's hand with the breeze blowing gently.
Jack didn't know what came over him when he suddenly said those words that have been taunting his mind. Those three words. Maybe because it was the view. Maybe because it was when he could see a smile on her face. Maybe because it felt the right moment to let it all out. Or maybe, just maybe, it was the girl who made everything for him perfect because...she does.
He took a glance at her before looking back at the view. He doesn't even know how she would react to his sudden statement. Would she think it's too fast? Would she then break up with him? Would she then hate him for saying this too fast? Would she hate him then? But her response covered every question that was mingling around his head that time.
"I love you too."
"Elsa? Hello?" Jack suddenly snapped her reverie, shaking her head in process to get back at where she is now. The whole park disappeared around her as it came back to her usual office. "You okay? You spaced out there for a long time."
The girl nodded her head as an answer. "I'm-I'm fine," she nodded, adjusting her bag and her files that she cradled on her arms. "I...I'm just tired."
He nodded also. "I'll take you home," he insisted. She had no time to refuse his offering when he already got thier car ready. Plus, she felt really drowsy and there's no point resisting a free ride than to take a cab since her car was borrowed by Anna. Anna's own car was being repaired since, well, she accidentally crashed it into a pole.
As Jack's driver asked for the destination when both sat down on the car, he told him the adress of her house. "Go to sleep," he whispered softly into her ear. He knows he might have not heard it since her eyes were as nearly closed and her head laid sideways to his shoulder just like old times.
Just like old times.
