The Text Message

Spencer POV

After our screaming match in the school corridor I kept mulling it over

"Think about it"

What did Lucy mean? There was something about her something I wanted to explore.  This girl was a mystery alright and I was determined to get to know more about her.  I didn't even know where she lived.....hang on that sounds a bit weird but you know what I mean.  I knew literally nothing about her.  Did she have a boyfriend outside of school? Is that why I have never seen her around? I was so intrigued by her that fire in her that I saw today she comes across quiet but fair play she can stand up for herself and I liked that quality in her she had got under my skin.

I had heard what Principle Carter had said, what did that even mean "You've been through so much at such a young age" what was he getting at when he made that statement?

With that my phone rings it's Perry I have his number saved as "Perry Bro Groves".

"Pel" I answer.

"What's happening Spenc? How's psycho Stacey doing" Perry laughs.

"Ahh man don't even talk to me about that b***h, I mean what the actual f**k was that all about today why'd she start and attack Lucy like that?" I say to Perry.

"Dude" Perry laughs and continues

"You seriously asking me that?"

"Yeah" I say stunned not knowing where this conversation is going. 

"Jeez don't play me for a fool Spenc" was Perry's reply.

"What you getting at Perry" I say getting annoyed now and I know Perry has picked up on my attitude.

"Ok ok chill... I know who this line of enquiry is......who has caught your eye worth investing in.....didn't you tell me that?........ It's Lucy Cole" Perry states.

"What" I say

"Dude I never saw it at first it was only after we had that chat that I clocked who you was clocking and it was Lucy.  So if I can put two and two together in such a small amount of time I'm sure  Stacey would of clocked it weeks ago, she must of seen the both of you together when you was sorting out Lucy's locker for her" Perry says and I knew he was right.

I sighed and replied to Perry

"I tried talking to Lucy after she left Carters office and she weren't having none of it"

"Listen Spenc when you was waiting for Lucy to come out of her bollocking with Carter Jahmal was speaking to Asher and Lourdes they are proper nice girls you know and well we've invited them all to Craig's house next Friday he has a free house as his parents are away" Perry informs me.

"What Lucy as well"I ask.

"Well yeah Asher or Lourdes will pass the message on to her, you know what girls are like" Perrys says with ease in his voice.

"Nice on Bro, catch up tomorrow" I reply, feeling more at ease myself.

"Spenc....I got Lucy's number from the girls, you want me to send it over?" he laughs.

"Quality, yeah mate send me her number over" I laugh.

"Later's Spenc catch you online if you're coming on" Perry says.

"Laters, yeah be online soon mate" I say ending the call.

Perry sent Lucy's number over straight away.  I had to think on this.  I don't want to let my guard down and let her take me for an utter p***k.

It was now 19:30pm and my Mum called me down for dinner.  My Mum and Dad lead very busy lives and when they was home at a decent hour we had to eat dinner together there was no negotiation on that.  I had a really good relationship with both my Mum and Dad and we all idolised Dolly my little sister.   As a family we are tight we rarely had a cross word in the house.    We all sit and chat and catch up Dolly taking centre stage as normal  telling us all chapter and verse on the day of a life of primary school child she was hilarious at times.

After dinner I hit the shower after getting changed I jumped on my bed the lads was playing COD and texting me to come online I had to text Lucy first.

I put her number in my phone and save it

"You ok Lucy" I texted

Message read.....replying

"Who is this?"

"It's Spencer"

"What do you want F**k Boy"

"Really? No need for that? Just seeing how you are after today"

"Are you for real?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be for real?"

"So not only do I get harassed and attacked by your b***h of a girlfriend and end up getting excluded for a day now I've got you harassing me outside of school.  What do you want your ego stroked or something? You have clearly got me wrong,  just leave me the f**k alone"

"Listen Lucy, I am genuinely sorry for happened  to you today I had no idea that would happen please believe me think you have got me all wrong whatever you may think of me I am not a bad person let me prove that to you and once again she is NOT MY GIRLFRIEND x "

And after that text nothing, she had read it but no response well f**k her, I ain't grovelling no more stuck up bitch.

I jumped online to play COD with the lads but to be fair I wasn't concentrating, Me and Craig was the pros of COD and even Ant who was shit at the game was whipping my arse....I pulled out halfway through the third game which was a first for me.  

I was fuming she was one cheeky b***h chatting shit about my ego needing to be stroked who did she think she was but then did she have a point? Did she have my number? It seemed to be all about the chase with her it was like a mission and I was determined to accomplish this mission.

I put on the telly and nothing is on, I put on Netflix and put on Four Brothers it's an oldish film one me and my Mum had watched together one of my Mums favourite films.  To be honest I'm not really watching it it's just background noise to me taking my mind off things, her.
