***TRIGGER WARNING***
Extremely violent and detailed scene right in the beginning. If you're ok with reading, go on ahead and stop reading this message because there will be a small spoiler. If you'd rather skip I will add a "start here" where the violence has ended but to summarize, Nat goes wolf and kills Dylan. Please enjoy the rest of the chapter. 😊NATALIE KANE
Without so much as a second thought, I lunged at Dylan, knocking him onto his back and pinning him down. His body stiffened and he let out a yelp as my claws dug deep into his shoulders. I lowered my face to his, my teeth inches away from his skin. I bared them as saliva dripped down onto his cheeks.
"Please!" he begged. "Let me go!" A low growl rumbled in my chest. "I'm sorry. I take back everything. I was just upset you left me and called the police, I wasn't thinking straight. We can work things out, we always do. Just please-" He choked on the last words as his pleading turned into sobs.
I was incredibly tired of hearing it all. The lies, the unmeaningful apologies, the empty promises, he was like a broken record, day in and day out, and I couldn't take it anymore. It all meant nothing and it made me sick to my stomach. His pathetic attempt to save his own skin only added more fuel to my internal fire. The voice in my head had grown so loud, echoing, pulsating; it hurt my ears. "KILL HIM! DO IT NOW!"
Total instinct took over and it felt like I wasn't in control of my body anymore. My teeth and claws began tearing violently through flesh as warm blood flew everywhere. On any given day, I would be disgusted, repulsed, but in this moment it felt right, like it was feeding a hunger that I never knew I had. Piercing shrieks turned into muffled screams, which eventually died out and everything fell silent, except for the sounds of flesh ripping away from bone. I was lost in a blind rage.
(**START HERE**)
"Nat." I stopped dead in my tracks and my head instantly shot up. What was that? The word was so faint, I thought I imagined it for a second. I almost shrugged it off until I heard it a second time. "Nat."
My eyes darted over to where Cody laid, barely conscious on the cold, hard floor. My heart couldn't bear the sight. I let out a pained whimper as the voice in my head came back. "Help our mate." I gasped. Our mate? Was this voice a part of me? Could this be possible? Am I actually a wolf? Without warning, it was as if all my self control came rushing back, and a strong warm feeling washed over me. I noticed I was standing on my own two feet again.
Without hesitation, I raced over to Cody in what felt like a fraction of a second. It seemed like I was gliding rather than running, my feet barely touched the ground. I stretched out my arm to pull the silver netting off of him, my fingers were merely millimeters away.
"Stop!"
I retracted my hand and gasped. That was Cody's voice, but where did it come from? His mouth was closed and I hadn't seen his lips move; he didn't even look conscious enough to speak.
"Don't touch the net. You've triggered your wolf, it'll burn you too."
"I am a wolf. It's really true? What the fuck?" I could have sworn I said that to myself, thought it in my own head, but apparently I was wrong because I received almost an immediate response.

Hombres Lobo** "Hey," I squeaked back. I didn't know why he was so intimidating, but for some odd reason, I kind of liked it. It wasn't a scary intimidating, I wasn't afraid of him at all. He was intriguing, sexy, and a man who screamed danger, but at the same...
