Chapter Forty Nine

I was sitting in the garden with Amelia and Margo just relaxing. I had been having lots of braxton hixt contractions for the last week or two and I hated it. "These stupid fake contractions are pissing me off" I huff as I rub my lower back. Margo nods as she leans back on the bench to look at the sky. "Mine were bad too. They really do suck. But just wait. Labor is a real bitch."She laughs and I give her a weak glare. Amelia pats my arm and I pout. I stand up and freeze. I look down to see something watery run down my leg, making my cheek heat up. "I just peed on myself..." I whisper and Margo shoots up. "Sweetheart I need you to stay calm and take deep breaths. You didn't pee yourself. That was your water breaking. The baby is coming. Amelia try to find-" Margo says but I gasp and hold my stomach as a wave of pain shoots through my body. "Oh GOD!" I whimper and Amelia is running towards the house while Margo helped me walk. "Just keep breathing Lily. We are almost at the house." Margo tells me calmly. Luca, Zach, Jack, Marley and Cain come rushing forward as I groan in pain again. "Talon and Liam are at a meeting. We need to get her to the hospital. Luca get her into the car and I'll get Talon. GO!" Cain says and Luca nods before moving to pick me up. I start to cry thinking Talon wouldn't get there in time. Luca puts me in the back seat with Margo and Zach while everyone else rides in another car. The drive to the hospital wasn't as long as it seemed, maybe twenty or so minutes. I was wheeled in and put into a birthing suite. They gave me an epidural and ice chips to chew on as we waiting for me to be dialated enough.

The doctor comes in and checks and tells me it's time to push. "N-No I can't! Talon isn't here... He needs to be here!" I cry as more pain flows through me. Margo squeezes my hand and brushes my haor back from my face. "Lily... You need to push. Talon will be here." She whispers to me as I look up at her. She smiles and keeps my hand in hers. I nod slowly and start to push. "Good job Lily. Just keep breathing. Aaaannnnd Push push push!" The doctor says and I push as hard as I could. Just as I relax again the door bursts open and Talon was there with a nurse trying to stop him. "Thats my fiance and baby in there! Get the fuck offa me!" He growls and Margo waves the nurse away. Talon rushes to my other side and kisses my sweaty forehead. "Hey beautiful baby. I'm sorry I was late. But I'm here now. You doing ok? You can do this baby girl." He whispers and smiles. I give him a weak smile before the doctor said to push again. It felt like an eternity before we all heard the wail of a baby. I look down, with tears as I see the doctor pulling the baby out of me slowly and handing him to me. He was all bloody but so beautiful to me. "H-Hi my baby.." I whisper and Talon kisses my head as we both look at him with tears. I was holding our baby in my arms. Our baby boy. I cried as I looked at him. The nurse took him and cleaned him up, wrapping him in a blue blanket and putting a small hat on his head. They checked him over and handed him back to us with a smile. "He is healthy and strong. We know about how he was a twin. And I think he will be a strong boy. His eyes will surprise you though." The doctor tells us and we look confused but she just smiles and leaves the room.

Everyone comes in slowly, quietly offering their congratulations to us. We facetime my parents to show them their grandchild, making my normally stoic father sob. They promised to come visit soon before going back to work. We let Max sleep in the small carrier in the room so I could take a nap. Pushing a baby out of you was exhausting.

Talon POV

Liam and I were sitting in a meeting with another Mafia, talking about some small gangs that were dealing in human trafficking, and deciding what to do with them. We hear yelling coming from outside the door and we all fall silent before the door slams open and Cain stood, panting in the doorway. "Talon... Lily... Hospital.... Baby is coming." He pants and I shoot up and rush to my car with Liam and Cain. Everyone knew why I was leaving so I wasn't stopped. I was speeding down the highway to get to the hospital. Suddenly a state trooper car is chasing me with its sirens and horn. "Fucking shit... I don't have time for this!" I yell as I pull over. I get out of the car and the cop raises his gun at me. "Get back in the car!" He yells and I pull at my hair. "Listen! I don't have time for this! My fiance is at the hospital in labor and I need to get there! Follow and give me a ticket there if you have to but I cant fucking stop!" I yell back and he nods. "I'll give you and escort. Stay on my tail." He gets back into his car and drives quickly to the hospital with me right behind him. I skid to a stop at the entrance and leave Liam to take care of the car as I run inside. I hurry to the maternity wing and yell for Lily. "Lily! Baby!" A nurse shushes me and I push past her as I see Lilys name on a door. "Sir! You need to stop and be quiet!" The nurse says and grabs my arm. "Thats my fiance and baby in there! Get the fuck offa me!" I growl at her as I open the door. Seeing Lily on the bed, sweaty and crying, was killing me. I hurry to her side and kiss her forehead.

I swear I was watching from above as I saw Lily push our baby out. Hearing his cries as he came into the world brought tears to my eyes. He was perfect. I barely registered anything else as he was placed in Lilys arms. I just looked at him in awe. He was almost 9 pounds in total. A big baby for her body, but he was here with us. After he was cleaned up, everyone came in and checked on us. Lily was sleeping as I picked up our son and held him for the first time. "Hey Maximus. My son. I'm your daddy and I love you so much. You did so well protecting your sister before, and we are so proud of you. But now all we need is for you to grow up and be strong for us little guy. You have lots of family to love and protect you." I whisper and he opens his eyes to look at me. His right eye was as blue as the ocean, just like his mother, while his left eye was forest green like mine. I smile and stroke his cheek with my finger softly, making him coo and grab it with his tiny fist. I rock him slowly as he falls back asleep. A knock at the door makes me look up as I see Gabriel poke his head in. I wave him in, and almost groan as I see him bring in a giant teddy bear with a blue bow, and Estelle carrying a bunch of balloons in. They don't stay long since Lily was sleeping but promised to stop by after we were able to go home.

1 week later

Lily POV

We left the hospital after a week and I was thrilled to go home. Talon drove along side streets, below the speed limit because he wanted to be cautious. After driving for almost an hour on a way that should have been much shorter, we arrive at our home. Going inside with Max, we saw everyone waiting for us, including my parents. We all celebrated and had a simple evening with each other. I fed and put max to bed in his crib after an hour. I stood looking down at him sleeping while smiling when I felt arms around my waist and kiss pressed to my neck. "Our son." Talon rumbles lowly and I nod. "He is so beautiful." I whisper and he chuckles lowly. "Because his mother is so beautiful. Now I want another one... I'm thinking four in total." He says and I look at him with a small glare. "You better not hope for four mister! He was a big baby. And another one wouldn't be for awhile." I grunt and he just laughs quietly as he kisses my head. We both go back to looking at our son again in silence. We finally felt peace as we looked at the small infant sleeping soundly in his crib. "I love you my queen." He says and tilts my head up to kiss me softly. "And I love you my daddy." I whisper against his lips.

A/N: Only one more chapter and then the epilouge! Sorry i was gone so long! I had my birthday and then my parents sold their house... which i had to help them pack up AND move.. If you even buy  a house. DONT MOVE AGAIN! its so much work! T^T   But i am so glad to be back and finishing this book. I hope you are all staying safe! Love you all so much!
