"I want you to..." Kim's voice trails off. He thought he was going to demand a piggyback ride from Way, but having to say it aloud, he hesitates.
"Just say it." Way insists, already expecting the worst.
They've made many idiotic bets, and with each bet, a punishment just as idiotic also followed.
Between the two of them, there were rarely ever boundaries.
What for? When for the majority of their lives, they were already living controlled and restricted by their families. There was already so little time that they could truly do whatever they wanted.
"What is it, Kim! Just spit it out!" Way wonders how bad it could possibly be, the previous punishments they did flashing across his mind.
"I...I want you to run around the school naked!" Kim blurts out quickly before he can even process what has just come out of his mouth.
Way's eyes widen with his brows raised, as if challenging what he just heard. He could not believe his ears, but he was not one to back down either. His expression was a delicate balance between "What did you just say?" and "Are you sure you want to see that?".
Kim covers his mouth with his hands, as though stopping himself from saying anything else even more as ridiculous.
There was a short pause as Kim contemplates retracting what he just said and Way contemplates accepting his punishment.
Without another word, Way stands up and turns to where they parked their motorbikes.
"Where are you going?" Kim asks as he follows behind. Was Way angry at what he said? Should he not have said that?
Way isn't the kind of person who would get angry over something like this, though. Kim recalls Way making him hug a trashcan when he lost a previous bet. He would never forget the stares he got from random strangers that day.
Luckily, what Kim hears next clears all of his doubts.
"To the school, of course. Where else would I go to get naked?"
'Your house?' Way adds quietly and playfully under his breath.
A wave of relief floods over Kim. He laughs, not at Way, but at himself, for letting himself get carried away thinking that Way might have been mad at him.
By now, Way already had his helmet on and was ready to speed off.
"Wait for me, it doesn't count if I'm not there to see it!" Kim shouts and rushes to get on his own bike.
The ride there was cold but quiet. Way was dreading what he was about to do while Kim anticipated it at quite the same intensity.
Standing in front of the school field, Way takes a deep breath before quickly removing his clothing and ran a lap around the field before he had a chance to feel embarrassed for himself.
Kim could not help but laugh at how helpless Way was. Reluctant yet not wanting to give in, there he was, doing something this crazy.
After a stressful day at school, Kim finally got the break he needed. He let out a hearty laugh, almost to the point of tears. He laughed so hard that he found it hard to breathe, and his stomach hurt like he had just done 50 sit-ups.
Way could hear Kim's joyful and unrestrained laugh even from the field, which made him smile amidst his run. Even if he had to sacrifice his ego, it wasn't all that bad if in return, he got to hear this laugh of Kim's.
Finishing up his lap, Way sped up and ran straight to put his clothes back on, while Kim wipes away the tears which have formed in his eyes. He takes a deep inhale to calm himself down, but it doesn't last long.
His eyes met Way's and they'd burst out into an uncontrollable laughter the next second.
Way couldn't process that he'd just done that. Kim couldn't believe he just saw Way do that. Now, they were both seriously questioning their own sanity and the sanity of the other.
But it's fine.
They know this is not the last of their bets.
