At home, Khet is playing games because his fever has subsided.
Kim passes Khet his dinner and places his hand on Khet's forehead to check his temperature. Sensing that it's not as warm anymore, Kim is relieved that his fever has subsided.
"Go back to school tomorrow if you're feeling better." Kim reminds Khet. Then, he goes to his room without another word.
Once again, Kim acts like he's not concerned when he actually is.
Way gives Khet a small pat on his back.
"He probably took care of you all night. He even slept in class today." Way tells Khet, hoping it'll make him feel better.
"Thanks, P'Way. And for looking after him too." Khet sighs and eats the porridge that Kim has bought for him.
Way follows Kim into his bedroom.
Kim is currently taking a shower, and Way decides to lie down on Kim's bed. His body sinks into the soft bed and he relaxes.
The next thing he knew, Kim is out of the shower and promptly kicks Way off the bed.
"Don't bring your germs onto my bed!" Kim scolds.
"Ouch. Couldn't you have asked instead of kicking me?" Way pretends to be in pain.
"Why are you here anyway? " Kim asks while walking to his study table. There's still some work to be done before he can call it a day.
"To make sure you sleep." Way replies bluntly.
"Go home. I'll sleep later, and not with you." Kim turns on his desk lamp and flips open his laptop.
Usually, Way is amazed by his discipline and willpower. But he's having none of that today.
So he walks up to Kim, picks him up effortlessly and throws him on the bed.
When Kim tries to get up, Way forces him back down with the thick blanket, and wraps Kim in it, like a human burrito. He's determined to keep Kim on the bed.
"Stop moving so much!" Way shouts.
"I have things to do!"
They're fighting again. Kim tries to escape the blanket.
Sighing, Way basically lies down on top of Kim, using his whole body as a weight to keep Kim from getting up.
The tension in the room was building up with every second that passed.
"Sleep, Kim. Stop making people worry about you."
Kim pauses.
It's then that he realizes Way is not doing this to annoy him, but because he's worried. He calms down significantly.
"You've done enough today. You'll do more tomorrow." He reassures Kim.
Realizing that Kim has stopped rebelling, Way moves away from him and settles down on the other side of the bed.
"Tomorrow isn't always promised."
"Fine, I'll stay here and protect you the whole night to make sure you don't die. I promise you'll have a tomorrow with me around, okay?"
Kim laughs. He's comforted by Way's passing remarks.
"Honestly, I'm scared I'm still not enough." Kim admits.
Way turns to face Kim and reaches his hand out.
"Kim..." He starts.
Suddenly, Way takes the pillow from under his head and whacks Kim with it.
"I'll hit you for every one time that you say you're not enough."
"I'm going to sue you for damaging intellectual property." Kim says as he throws the pillow back to Way and rubs the area that was just hit to soothe it.
"You know, you're already one of the most hard working people I've ever met in my life. Stop trying to be so perfect and just be you. You're already perfect as you are right now."
Way makes sure to say each word slowly, making sure Kim gets the message.
But Kim's eyes are already closed.
Way chuckles. After all that fight he put up, Kim still fell asleep so quickly. Well, that just shows how tired he was.
"Sleep well, Kim. I'll watch over you from now on."
That night, Kim has one of the most peaceful sleeps he's had in a long time.
Maybe it's because he's tired, or maybe it's because he feels safe sleeping beside Way.
