Trip (6) End

Before they knew it, the sun was already setting.

They sat at the balcony, warm sunlight shining on their faces. There was an ethereal peace in that moment.

"What are you going to do after we graduate?" Way starts the conversation. Being away from everything, he felt like they could talk about what they truly wanted.

"I think I'm going to go to Japan."

Kim pauses for a moment.

"What about you?"

Way didn't actually have any idea of where he wanted to go or what he wanted to do. He hadn't thought about it seriously before. All this time, he just thought he would follow Kim wherever the other was going. 

But it wouldn't be fun if he just said that. He also knew Kim would probably find some way to convince him otherwise as well.

So, he decides to take a gamble.

"I like LA more than Japan. How about this? Let's make a bet. If you win, we both go to Japan. If I win, we both go to LA."

At that time, Kim felt it would be the best thing to be together with Way. 

Imagine, just the two of them, in a faraway land pursuing whatever they wished. Relying on each other, learning and growing together. 

It sure was nice to think about.

Although, realistically, he knew it would be better if they both pursued what they wanted, even if that meant they had to be apart physically.

Despite knowing that, Kim decides that there's no harm going along with the bet for now. 

"Sure. What shall we bet on?"

"What about those?" Way points to a dartboard in the room.

"No. You're a hundred percent going to win."

"Aw, scared already?"

"I'm not. I'm just being logical."

"Okay then, I'll let you choose when we have the match. Sounds good?"

"Fine. Since you're so bent on losing to me."

"We'll see about that."

Nothing would have prepared them for what they were about to experience in the next school year.
