Warning: Mentions of bullying, class systems(and injustice) just assume those two will always be in this story.
3 boys sit around a small fire in a alley. The first one, Patton, the second tallest of the group held something over the fire. He was wearing a faded blue polo shirt with a frayed gray cardigan around his shoulders even though the weather was starting to get cold he didn't want it to fall apart before the brunt of winter came. He looked over at the boy next to him, Logan. Logan was the tallest of the tree boys and the best dressed. He was wearing a black button up that hid the several stains that would have shown if it was any other color and a dark blue tie. No one knew how he managed to keep it looking so good after all this time. The third boy, Roman, sat staring into the fire at the food Patton kept hovered over it. Roman was wearing a white shirt covered in stains. It's impossible to keep any shirt clean let alone a white one on the streets so he tried to cover most of them with a red sash. He liked the stash that he had made out of a strip of extra fabric someone had thrown out because it made his outfit like a prince.
Patton finally pulled out the food from the fire and spilt it into three pieces. The boys were thankful for the food, it was Sunday after all so whatever was in their stomachs from school on Friday was long gone, and quickly ate their small pieces. The three talked about meaningless topics before laying down and falling asleep.

Three other boys not too far from Logan, Patton, and Roman also sat close to a fire chewing on a few pieces of baked goods the local bakery had thrown away. The shortest of the group, Janus, was dressed in yellow T-shirt with a yellow flannel shirt tied around his waits. He had a large scar that covered half his face and had heterochromia so one eye was hazel while the one on the scared side of his face was bright yellow. To his left was Remus who was the tallest. He wore a green T-shirt over a black long sleeve and ripped jeans covered in questionable stains. Next to him was Virgil, taller then Janus but he slouched and was skinnier then the before mentioned boys. Not that any of them weren't skinny but Virgil already had a small frame to begin with. He wore a ripped purple shirt and had a black sweatshirt with one of it's sleeves falling off.
The three boys finished their food all too quickly and started a small conversation before deciding that it would be good to get to sleep. They still had school tomorrow after all and the teacher's wouldn't like it if they overslept and were late to school. They all laid down, Janus using his flannel and Virgil using his sweatshirt as a pillow, and fell asleep.

Roman woke up to Patton shaking his shoulder. "Come on kiddo. We're pretty far from the school today so if we don't go now we'll be late" He said. Roman mumbled something and sat up rubbing his eye's. He hated school, I mean who would like going some place where everyone hates you. The teachers hated you if you didn't come from a family with power and money, the kids bullied you if you were any different from them. Everything about this society depended on money. There were three types of people, the Rich's, the Normals, and the Street Rats. If you were a Rich you were set for life, job's were a guarantee, you were popular at school, you had everything you ever wanted. If you were a normal you had a house and food but you still have to fight for your job and place in the world, but living wasn't impossible. Then the Street Rats which is what he was. They didn't have anything, no house, no food, no jobs, no nothing. Most Street Rat's were orphans and most didn't make it to see their 21st birthday. They were the lowest on the social status and if you were one you gave up on life a long time ago.
Roman walked in a line with his two friends to school and looked at them as they talked. Those 2 liked school. Even though Patton was a Street Rat most people liked him and he even had some friends outside of their little group. Logan always liked learning even if all the teachers despised him he had the best grades in the school. If he was a Normal or a Rich he would probably go pretty far in life. The only thing Roman liked about school was the Drama club and the musical, well that and the lunch the school was required to provide. Drama club was his one escape from his shitty life. He could be the prince he always wanted to be, or a normal teen with a loving family, or a knight saving a princess(Even though he's gay) plus it gave him and his friends a few more hours inside the school on a cold day. They soon arrived too soon at school and stared a new day of hell.
*************4*********
Virgil watched as the sun rose. He never slept all that much but he was tired the night before and had managed to get a couple of hours, he figured they could wait an hour of two after the sun rose before they needed to get to school. He sat watching the sun rise and drawing in the dirt when he heard Janus waking up behind him. "Hey Virgil. You sleep last night or just sit there?" Janus said with a chuckle. "Yah I got some sleep. I'd say we have about a half an hour before we need to start heading to school Dee." Most people called Janus by his nick name, Deceit or Dee, not that he minded he was the king of lies after all. He waited a bit before Remus woke up. Remus was always a bit of a wild card and often got them in trouble with the police. The police was always chasing Street Rats out of where ever they had set up for the night claiming there were plenty of homeless shelters for them to stay at even though every one knew that was a lie. Everyone knew to be quiet at night so you didn't get flagged out or arrested but Remus wasn't really good at staying still and out of trouble with the law.
Virgil stood up and started walking. His two companions knew what that meant. Virgil was the best at keeping time and knowing weather or not they would be late, but he was really anxious and often made them a lot earlier to things then they needed to be. They stuck to their normal routine of Remus and Janus talking and joking while Virgil walked slightly ahead of them occasionally putting in a word or two about whatever they were discussing. They soon arrived at hell or as some people called it, school. They all split ways and walked to their classrooms knowing they still had a few minutes but if the teachers or anyone saw them conjugating together they would get in trouble. Not for any real reason and it's not like their punishments really meant anything but no one felt like being yelled at with an empty stomach.

All of the boys sat at their seats not knowing what would happen today. Not knowing about the other group's existence. All they knew was today they had to listen to another teacher give a boring lesson and face another day of bullies with the only pay off being lunch. They had no clue what life had in store for them, but to be fair, they never did.
Hey I hope this was good! I wanted to make a new story even though I can barley write the one I already have but hey when inspiration for a story comes you take it.
Please comment any suggestions and feel free to fix me on any mistakes we all make them and I want to be able to fix them.
Have a good day and live to see another one!
