"You alright, Murray?" said Greg.

"I'm ill and I'm sad" said Murray.

"Why are you sad?" said Anthony.

"Because Sam only cares that I get over this flu so I can go to a dance with her. She usually never takes the flu so lightly" said Murray.

"Murray, we thought you'd wanna go to the dance" said Jeff.

"Chaps, Sam cares more about the stupid dance than she does about me" said Murray.

"Oh, Murray, you have a really bad flu. You must not be thinking clearly" said Greg.

"Maybe you're right. Sam's probably at the dance with another boy" said Murray.

"She wrote saying she is. At least she's honest" said Anthony.

"Oh dear..." Murray sighed.

"Just rest up, Murray" said Anthony.

"Yeah. Think of how much fun Sam's having at the dance" said Greg.

In Mayberry, Sam was doing her make-up for the dance.

"Golly, Sam. You sure look purty" said Gomer.

"Thank you, Gomer. Does Mary Grace like you?" Sam said.

"She sure does. She's mighty nice" said Gomer.

"That's great" Sam said.

Just then, Barney and his girl walked in.

"Hey, guys" said Barney.

"Hey, Barn" said Gomer.

"Sam. I'd like you to meet Thelma Lou" said Barney.

"Hi" said Thelma Lou.

"Hello" Sam said.

"Oh, Gomer, would you take my punch to the dance for me? I'd hate to work so hard?" said Thelma Lou.

"With pleasure. Ya comin', Sam?" said Gomer.

"Opie said we'd leave at eight. It's only six thirty" Sam said.

Sam stayed at the office for a while then fell asleep for a few minutes.

Gomer walked back in the office and woke Sam.

She sprung up so fast, her head hit Gomer smack in the nose.

"Gomer? What's wrong?" Sam said.

"Well, besides a bloody nose... I spilled Thelma Lou's punch. Could you help me make more?" said Gomer.

"Of course. Just keep that nose geyser away from my dress" Sam said.

After Gomer and Sam made more punch, Sam had to run to Opie's house so he could take her to the dance.

It's almost time.

Murray seems sad that he didn't listen to Sam.

Will Sam have fun anyway?

Peace and love,

Sammy
