Opie and Sam were drinking the punch at the dance.

"I'm having a really great time" Sam said.

"I'm so glad you decided to come. I knew you'd love it" said Opie.

"And thanks, Opie, for wearing red. It means a lot to me" Sam said.

"You're welcome, Sam. I thought it wouldn't be fair to not remind you of your man" said Opie.

Sam then spilled some of the punch on her dress.

"Red punch! Red punch! What a mess!" Sam said.

"Well, I honestly think you're making it work" said Opie.

"Opie, look at my dress! Huh. This must be what it's like to be Murray" Sam said.

At that moment, Barney and Thelma Lou arrived at the dance.

Barney noticed the punch on Sam's dress and said "Thelma Lou! Sam's bleeding!"

"She can't be" said Thelma Lou.

Barney called the paramedics and they came and found Sam.

"Officer Pan. Deputy Fife says you're wounded. I don't know how you're still standing" said the doctor.

"I'm standing because I'm not bleeding. This is punch on my dress" Sam said.

The doctors then left.

"Was that true, Sam?" said Barney.

"Uh, yeah" Sam said.

"I told you she wasn't bleeding" said Thelma Lou.

"You're too gullible, Barney. Sometimes you have to check things out before jumping to conclusions" Sam said.

Barney then left the dance in embarrassment.

"I cannot believe this" said Thelma Lou.

"It was my fault too, Thelma Lou. Barney probably saw me freak out" Sam said.

"Now I know why you and Murray were the only ones in the room when this happened to him" said Opie.

"Who's Murray?" said Thelma Lou.

"He's Sam's man. He couldn't come to the dance with her because he's sick and depressed. So here I am helping her out" said Opie.

"Sick and depressed? Oh, what a shame" said Thelma Lou.

"Yes." Sam said.

Sam's flip phone then rang.

"Hello?" she said.

"Sam. It's Meg" said Meg.

"Meg? I'm at the dance. What's wrong?" Sam said.

"Oh, it's Murray. He's not well AT ALL" Meg said.

"Is it that bad?" Sam said.

"Yes. He needs you. He said he owes you an apology and he's getting worse" Meg said.

"Be right there" Sam said hanging up.

"Y'all okay, Sam?" said Opie.

"Thanks for the magical evening, Opie, but my friend says Murray is getting worse and needs me" Sam said.

"Then you better get to him. No time to waste" said Opie.

"Thank you for understanding how much he needs me" Sam said hugging Opie.

After Sam left, Opie said to Thelma Lou "You think Barney's gonna be okay?"

"I hope so. I haven't seen him this embarrassed since he thought a bank was being robbed and it was actually the teller trying to get in" said Thelma Lou.

Looks like this dance just got ugly.

What's coming up? What could it be?
